How do you have a word linked to a website?

What I mean is I want to have a word be the link not the actually web address like most people post on their threads. I know it can be done I just don't know how.

For example I would like the work "Laser Switch" to be the link to this web link http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7088.

Now how would I do this?

Or you can highlight the word or phrase and click the insert link button. In this forum, it looks like the earth with a chain link in front of it. Other places should have buttons, like AOL Instant Messenger and those easy webpage creators.
