I've got a spare refrigerator sitting out back which im sure i could rip the parts out needed for cooling. My only question on here is. Is there such a thing as making your PC too Cold?

Well liquid nitrogen has been used for cooling and it doesn't get much cooler than that!
The biggest problem with using a fridge is condensation. Cold is fine, but water isn't so good for PC's...

You could always buy a refrdigerated case.

The idea of putting a pc in a fridge comes around from time to time. The only thing you have to worry about is condensation. Refrigerators are designed to work within relative humidity ranges useful for foods, not electronics.

Condensation and running equipment doesn't mix.
Figure out a way to remove condensation from the matter and you have yourself a 40 degree PC.

You can do what I'm doing with my extra fridge.

I'm not even close to done. It will look wicked once I'm done. I'll post more picks once I get a chance to work on it again.

Or the fact that old fridges use highly toxic chemicals? It's actually illegal in the UK (i believe in most of the US too) to improperly dispose of a fridge or freezer; it has to be done by a 'professional'. Therefore, in doing this, you may not only be poisoning yourself and those around you, but doing it illegally too.

The fridge idea comes up a LOT. But i don't think i've ever seen one finished, unless you count the mountain dew mod, and that didn't involve cooling the computer if i remember correctly.

Modern fridges uses highly toxic chemicals too.
The different is the coolant is more enviromentally friendly, just like cars cooling systems.

A lot of people come up with the idea, few have enough knowledge to remove condensation, seal the unit off and figure out how to get it to work properly for long periods of time.
Current WC or air solutions work well, are more common, easier to troubleshoot or fix and still give good performance.

That is the reason that the refrigerated PC, liquid nitrogen cooling or even phase change systems are rare. Other things work, and work well.

O yea. . you can come work on my fridge anytime. . hehe

You might want to try the crisper drawer never seen any condensation in there.

That combined with a touch screen and my robotic arm idea and you got something to hand you beers when your drunk. . lol.

I have actually put a computer inside a mini fridge, if you're going to do it you need to keep the PSU out of the case because it causes way too much heat. Also you must allow the fridge to cool down completely before turning on the computer or it will overheat big time. Although my mini fridge experiment failed, maybe a full size fridge will work? sounds like too much trouble to me. Mise well just turn it into a kegerator :)
