There are tons of robotic gadgets you can get as kits or premade that interface with a PC. The coolest of these IMO are the homemade ones people make with their Robosapiens ;) Most of these use serial cable commands in ASCII or simple apps written for USB or USB-UIRT connections.
www.evosapien.com is a fave site. Here they have tons of mods with how-to (http://www.evosapien.com/robosapien-hack/jsamans/robosapien/pcmod.htm)worklogs.

If you got the money. You can have the first walking PC Case:
I agree Crimson home made is KING. Just Looking up ideas.
I can only imagine the amout of reading I'd have to do to be able to build on of those

You can have the first walking PC Case:
It's not the first walking PC. Not by a long shot! Of course, if you want to get into a debate as to what constitutes walking, the difference between walking and crawling, etc...bah.
Give me R2-D2 any day. :)

Yeah I do although I was more into legos. I actually had this set of giant erector like peices that were plastic though.

You can make some pretty neat stuff with an old Erector Set. Do any of you younger gen. modders here know about erector sets?
Those things were the shiat.

I do know you needed a few kits to get a decent erection.

Yes, I know it was bad, but it is true.
I noticed Lego being mentioned a few times lately, so I started a thread about my Lego trains (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7497)

Considering how loud some cooling setups are already, you'd need to wear earmuffs when approaching it! lol :p

The New lego Mindstorms are Preddy Kewl.

I did a price comparison on the Real robot kits vs Mindstorms.
They cost about the same. Mindstorms have more sensors and control options right out of the box but are plastic.
And the Real robot kits don't come with the prewired electronic brain module.
Im gonna have to get one or the other here soon. To kewl to pass up.
Sorry, still can't get over the erection comment.
Anyway, I'll try to continue.
They are seriously cool. And I want them all. And I want to learn to control them. Then I want to take over the world, like in i-Robot (but I'll have Will Smith assassinated first...)
