WTF. I don't want Crackdown.

Crackdown is amazingly good fun. Disappointingly short but incredible fun. I fully recommend it if you can get it cheaper. At about 15 hours of game play it's not worth the asking price, but it's a very original game with a lot of potential. I look forward to some kind of sequel. :)

Eh, not really. If the game can be beaten in a day (friend of mine did it), then its too short. Not a good storyline, and when you drive the car you cant help but hit a couple thousand pedestrians (too many AIs) :p

Crackdown and Halo 3 are two completely different games.

Canadian Eh?

I'll agree that the points made about Crackdown are fair: it is too short, and the civilian cars handle like greased jobbies. BUT.

Killing Civilians is part of the game. It's supposed to be like that. If you've been running around trying to avoid killing them then you may have missed the point entirely. It's all about being the one guy in the whole city who can pretty much do whatever the hell he wants. If this means picking up a bus and squashing a dude with it, then all the better. If it means climbing a building and nuking the guys in the street below, then go for it. Part of the fun is seeing just how much collateral damage you can actually cause.

One of my favorite parts of the game is towards the end, when freaks escape into the city. The narrator has some brilliant one liners, such as "Put those freaks out of their misery, agent" and my personal fave, "The only good freak is a dead freak".

The game is way too short to merit being called great, even excellent, but it's so original and new in a market saturated with first person shooters and RTS games that you'd honestly be nuts to ignore it.

lol holy jebus Dave. At first I didn't realize you were talking about a game. I guess thats what I get for skipping through a thread to the last post! oh man, was I ever about to give it to you! Pff "Killing civilians is part of the game", I thought you were talking about a current real life war or something! lol

....what kind of screwed up game are you guys playing anyways? lol sounds like fun!
