I don't want to be left out! Come to think of it, I have a couple of junk (233 mhz) boxes I should do that with.
Oh yeah, I have LOTS of dust like GT40.

I opened mine because something is screwy with my onboard sound, and saw a LOT of dust... I really need some canned air or something... but yeah, I installed a real soundcard and hope to high heaven that nothing else goes, I really don't feel like RMAing this mobo, too much of that earlier in the year. Oh, and I don't have a camera to post a pic, sorry guys...
one question,
Why do people like windows, I have always wondered this, Do you need to see if all the parts are still there?
Personally i don't like windows, I always like UNDERSTATED cases, built a AMD XP 3000 in an old case from the 70's, Looked freaky as hell installing windows XP on it, running doom 3!!!!!!!!!!!!
That or really wacky cases, i still hate windows. But its all prefrence.
Who here likes/dis likes windows and why?
I vote dislike:
Why see it, you know its there, you can have a nic air brush job on the side on a case.

talk about thread hijack.
this thread is not wether we lke windows or not. this is to show off the inside beauty of everyone's case. Im just gonna take a guess and say that most people here like windows. might be a general statement, but i think thats about as far as that should go in this thread. if you really want to know, start a new thread with a vote.
besides, a window is the optimal way to show off those hours of hard work people here put into there case. Most people cant airbrush. thats a skill and talent. Modding can take any form, and anyone can be good at it in his/her own way.
But, to continue on topic....
i personally take a lot of pride in my computer. i can guarantee there is not a speck of dust in it. ill post a pic soon. Ive almost eliminated all wires showing in my case, so.. looks very nice with amazing, completely non-restrictive airflow.

part of spending money on all the computer parts is to show them off as well as use them. and a window is even better with water cooled pc's if you have some UV coolent and a uv light.
My computer is entirely composed of windows.

This is inside my case at the moment:

Though I'm about to transfer it to another case. I want to do a quick mod to the case in the picture, then put in my old AMD Athon XP2000+ chipset and Gigabyte board to make a Linux box.
So I'm about to turn off my PC. It feel like pulling the plug on a loved one... *sniff*

I'm back online!!!
Here is why filters on fans is a good thing:

A nice collection of moths and dust inside the case. I think the lighted LED's help attract the moths. Plenty of dust too...
I'll hose it out before I mod that case and repaint.
Here's the bits transferred into the new case. Can you say cable mis-management?:

It'll get sorted later on.

Trust me Bucko, there is some serious jungle fever brewing in my case. I just conveniently left that out of the pictures. I hear modular PSUs are just lovely but I really don't feel like blowing $50+ on something I don't absolutely need. The problem is that there is a gigantic bundle of cables coming out of the PSU that I'm not using and it's quite unsightly. Any tips dude?

Is cable sleeving fairly cheap and easy? It would be nice to consolidate a bit but I'm also a stingy basturd. :p

Yes. I guess you saw the earlier pic where the cables were a LOT neater?.
I'll post up some tips later. Right now I have a couple of my work logs open in other tabs and I'm updating them. The case I have transferred the guts into will get a BIG clean up over the next week or so. Keep your eye on Project: No Idea (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6649) as I do it.

Sleeving you PSU is actually not that expensive...
Here are prepackaged kits in assorted colors (http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=135)
ANd don't forget the Molex (http://www.frozencpu.com/products/3691/slt-01/FrozenCPU_Universal_Molex_Pin_Remover_-_Back_by_Popular_Demand.html?tl=g11c133s257) and ATX (http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2964) pin removal tools...they make life much easier. I'd say with these products and about 2-4 hours, you too can have a spiffy PSU. Good luck bro!
