Hello All,

I’m new to this forum. I’d like to shorten up some of the leads from my power supply, and I’m looking for a place to buy molex 4 pin connectors, both male and female and the correct crimper. I’m also looking for the 3 pin fan connectors and crimpers. I’ve been on the web and have found the molex site and others but it is a little confusing. Does anyone have a good place that they buy stuff that they can recommend.

Thanks in advance,

Brian

Hi Timmer,

Thanks for the reference to the Xoxide site. I got some stuff from them before and I have my Power Supply decked out in the nice green connectors. However what I'm looking for is the male and female connectors that you find on the wire leads when you take them out of the plastic. The four wires have a conector crimped onto each of them.

What I'd like to do is trim some of my power supply wires back a bit and crimp on new male and female connectors.

Thanks again,

Brian

I see what you mean, thats probly something you are more likely to find at a local electronics store.

What you could do if you like, is cut the wires to the desired length, slide some heatshrink on one side, solder the wires togethor... and heatshrink it for a nice insulated seal. It may look odd, but if you do it right near the molex it wont look too out of place. Cable sleeving would cover it up even better...
But Recrimping would be the best way to go, if you can find the tools.

You could check out mousers on line catalog and look up molex.. or as stated before

you wont need male connectors because theres only females on a psu. you can desolder the existing ones, bend the flaps back, cut the wire and solder back, or you can get new ones if you want. http://www.bigfootcomputers.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=Bigfoot&Category_Code=600.3.5
this is what you will need $0.6Cad for a set :D
