Well, the other day i was clearing the garage when i came across this old fort sitting in there:

These are the measurements of the fort, all in centimetres (please excuse my Paint skills) :

Instead of throwing it away (like i would of before i discovered this site:rolleyes: ) i thought could this be a case  ?
Its all made from wood. My idea is to put the computer components into the middle with a sheet of plexi over the top enabling viewing and protection. Also removing the 'Fort Apache' sign from above the foor replacing it with a small lcd screen which i have lying about.
Just wandering if anyone else had any ideas on what i could do with this? Also in terms of cooling, will watercooling be needed with a majority wood system or will fans be sufficient?

Thanks in advance, i'm open to any ideas :alien:

First off, thats a great find!!! I think there's a lot that you will be able to do with this. Maybe wire an LED or two up in the watch towers and then run those through one of those sound activated inverters or something. Either way, +rep for creativity! I look forward to seeing where this goes :)

Turn it into some high tech futuristic compound or something. Maybe a prison. All kinds of flashy things.

Thanks for all the feedback really getting me thinking - keep the ideas coming
Will just fans be ok for cooling?

Thanks again

Can't really say unless we know what you're doing with the system.

Are you going to OC? Keep it stock? Do you have components that tend to run hot on their own?

I'd say for the most part fans are sufficient, but listing the parts and what you're going to do would help.

For a sec I thought this thread was "Old fart found in the garage". Which is where you'll find me in about 25 years. :D

If you have a model train shop or craft store in your town pay them a visit. There you'll find all sorts of neat stuff you can use for the mod, such as miniature trees and scenery you can use to make it look fun and interesting.

As for cooling, either one is fine. I would go with air cooling as it is safer for the components, and quite a bit cheaper. You can overclock quite a bit with air cooling (you'll be surprised). Water cooling just gives you that extra little "bump" to give you a little higher overclocking capability. If you go with watercooling, test it for at LEAST 24 hours for leaks and other problems before you place any of it on the electronic components.

Happy modding!

That fort reminded me of the old-fashioned jails in movies! You could you those towers as watch towers and have little army men there!

The system i have planned isn't too good and i doubt i'll be OC'ing so fans should do the trick.
Thanks guys for advice/ideas can't wait to get started now
Not sure when i'll be able to get started i have exams in a few months and can't be spending too much time messing about with the mod
