real men cover up their solder with duct tape after the wires are 3 inches are too short and you need to extend them

You can sure use 5 or 7 volts instead of the stock 12 (makes the fans quiet, too :)). You can use one of your xbox controller hookups. If not that, use power from the Xbox power supply. I'm sure its got 5 watts for two fans to spare. Just look for the yellow wiring (on the molex for the HDD), grab a molex splitter (or bootleg one) and plug the fan into it.

on an xbox, there aint no molex on the outside of a xbox, and btw the usb onyl has 5v, split between 2 fans, 2.5 per fan, i dont think thats enough

It doesn't matter the voltage. It's the amperage.

Basic explanation: Voltage is the rate at which electricity flows, and amperage is how much electricity can flow through a wire at one time. Read up on it, it's neat stuff. :)

The 5 volt usually runs at about 30 amps, so it should have enough to power two fans easily. Or, you could get a Molex splitter or extender, run it to the outside of your xbox, and plug the fan in from there. Splitters/extenders run for about $1.00

Wait, are you talking about the original Xbox or the Xbox 360? I don't remember the original one having the overheating problem causing it to break...
The original Xbox had standard PC parts so it used molex connectors; the 360 does not, it uses a SATA 2.5" HDD and a SATA DVD drive with a special power connector. Therefore, no molex in the case at all.

Please specify.

EDIT: If you have the Nyko Intercooler, take it off of the 360 immediately; it takes power directly from the power supply and will destroy the components.

MaxOC's talking about a 360. Youy can see it in the background of one of his pics with green flames. Also, those fans are too tall (if they're 80's); the case will never close. The 360 uses twin 60mm fans.

If you really want to help airflow, look at this pic. (http://www.xbox-modchips.com/xbox360-tutorials/xcm-360-highspeed-air/8-1.jpg) there's a fan before the blocks and air duct, to help force air through instead of letting the stock fans sck the air on their own.

lol no actually i was mounting them externally, to help with airflow by sucking more air out the back
