Hey Guys,

So, I have this really cool but probably really hard to do idea. I was thinking (if it was feasible) about modding a 5 or 6 disc changer to play cd/dvds on the computer? I have seen them on ebay and amazon for 50 bucks or less used. (I can't find a good pic of one to grab).

You could steal the existing drive tray mechanism, but mod the reader with a cheap cd/dvd rom drive. The difficulties of this seem to be aligning the disk and reader, and figuring out a way to to spin the disk in the new drive tray.

Just curious, but has anyone attempted a similar mod where I might see how others tried it? Oh, and please tell me if this is a dumb idea I should not attempt. Thanks guys.

I don't know much about doing this, but it sounds pretty tough. The alignment of the lazer with the track is very precise and I imagine it is not an easy feat. But it's a free country!

I actually had an idea of a 12-disc CD changer in a PS2. lol
