Who has a 22" monitor and is happy with it?

I was thinking of getting a 22" monitor for my Custom Computer that will be built.

I have a 19" with this Dell, is it a big difference?

-Thx Steve

I have one and Its awesome
The real estate is much better.
Keep in mind that many games do not support resolutions that big.
Also you will need a lot of v ram for higher end games. In other words 8800gts 320mbs will not perform very well. In some games.
Get one!

That would be good for one big monitor. Performance might be affected if you used 2 monitors. Allthough, i wouldnt know for sure.

I was thinking about getting a 32" lcd HD-TV and using that as a monitor. I would deffinitly have to upgrade my video card if i decide to get one. My x700 can barely manage two 17" CTR's while playing vid's

trust me 22" loks amazing, get it and you wont regret it, with a 512 mb card its awesome, given that its a 6800 it still does amazingly well on 1680 x 1050

Even though my monitor didnt work (being replace friday) I must say the screen did look very smart compared to my crt and I was pretty amazed at the size.

If it surports the top end hd 1080 I think it is then your fine if not you will be stucking using 1024 by 782 which looks pretty crap.

You don't even have to play games on the same rez as your desktop (duh), I have my desktop on the max rez supported by my monitor and I have all the first person games I play at 1024x768 and WoW is at like 1280x1024... just pointing something out... :D

The iMacs are the ones with everything built into the screen; do you mean the Mac Pro?

There are 3 different videos cards that can come pre-installed in the Mac Pro. (http://www.apple.com/macpro/graphics.html)

That's definately not true, I run bf2142 on a 22" 16:10 with a lower resolution than the max, and it looks awesome. The stretching is only noticable for the first hour or so after you change from a regular monitor. As soon as you get used to it (in less than an hour) you won't notice it's stretched. In fact, the only way you can tell that it is stretched in the first place is the change in controls, ie the mouses horizontal axis seems to change very slightly in sensitivity because of the stretched screen.

Anyway, I have a 22" samsung LCD and it is nothing short of Brilliant. I'd reccomend samsung as a brand, they make fantastic screens! I've also got a 48" samsung HDTV and they're both perfect.

I looked at a bunch of LCD's today at Circuit City. I thought the image quality of the samsung 22" was pretty nice. The model I saw was the 226-bw and the only thing I didn't like about it was the shiny bezel. The edge was a little thick, so it would look kind of awkward with 2 of them side by side (hey I can dream right...). Looking on the web, the 225-bw has a thinner bezel and looks flat black. Nice thing about the samsung is the 3 year warranty too.

I also looked at the LG 22" L226WTQBF. It looked just about as good and after a little tweaking I had it looking better. I wanted to move them side by side, but it was a little busy. The bezel looked smaller than the samsungs. The LG also came with a 3 year parts and labor warranty but I have no experience with LG products. The LG was a little cheaper in the store, but on the website the samsung was cheaper.

The specs look almost identical except for the 2 extra pounds on the LG.

I wish I could play with them for a week to choose...
