I start out by cutting and stripping some wire for the tutorial:

Then I cut a little clear heatshrink tubing so you can see. Then I slip the little Heat shrink tubing over the wires.
and solder my connections togethor:
They should have been taped up separate first, But I wanted you to be able to see the wires.

Then I simply move the Heat shrink Tubing over the connection and use my heat gun
or lighter/torch to shrink the tubing. In this case I use the heat gun Cause I just bought it and wanted to try it out.
Watch out it will melt your wires if your not watching.

And there you go My wires are nice and heat shrunk.
Looks so much better than tape, and you don't have to worry about pulling your wires apart fiddling with your case mod.

It looks better if you strip the wires evenly. But you get the idea.
Also Notice I clean my work space before starting anything new.
A good way to keep things less confusing.
I was testing it out myself. . So I decided to take some pictures and post it.
This is the 9V Connector for my mini cam. Still works.
