this isn't necessarily modding, more like scrapping - but hey. Basically I have a micro tower that just had its CD-Rom go out... don't know anyone with a micro tower and don't want to bother buying another CD drive. However, I do have a couple archived laptops laying around with working CD-Roms... would they be compatible?
Not without an adapter. Laptops use a different interface for their optical devices.
If the standard for the micro tower optical drive is ide, then you can pick up an adapter online for a few bucks.
A picture would be worth it's weight in gold right now.
