Hey, I am new to water cooling and would love to use it as an alternative to fans. I just need to know what is the best kit to get for a reasonable price. I would be looking for something that comes with a CPU block compatible with a AMD Socket 754, and an VGA graphics block. Thanks and please reply.

swiftech kits are the best ones after a DIY kit

Thanks, but I was looking for a out of the box, DIY kit. It's pretty hard for me to decided which parts would be the best to get and I would rather get them all in a kit too. Does the type of case have anything to do with it? I have a Thermaltake Tsunami now.

i was refering to the swiftech kits, and by DIY i meant you choose the individual parts. all kits are DIY, noone is gonna put it together for u unless you want it to :D

Well I know its not going to put itself together, I mean a kit that already has all the stuff for a beginner. Like a reservoir, CPU block, VGA block, liquid, hose, and whatever other stuff I would need.

yes, as I said swiftech kits will give you a good performance for a good price.

Ok, do they come in kits pre-packaged? Give me a link so we're on the same page here. All I see is parts that you would have to put together in a kit yourself.

Thats great. But it doesn't come with any RAM sinks for the Video card, which is needed for newer higher end cards. So I'd recommend you buy some little ram sinks for $5 from newegg while your at it. Really it'd be nice if there was some way to water cool the RAM on video cards.

Im sure the card will come w/ ram sinks already on it, of which thats why i suggested that for him. BUT if you wanna put some good ram heatsinks on there then these will wuit you just fine (its what i use)

My expirience with almost all Nvidia video cards is that there is one fan and one big sink that sits atop the card. With the Geforce 6600GT, the RAM is not even cooled at all. Even with the newest/highest 6800 Ultra and 7800 GTX, the RAM is cooled with the one massive sink and fan. Which would have to be removed for the VGA water cooler.

As you can see here,

this waterblock covers the card's ram aswell, maybe not on the underside, but it certainly does on the top.

Yah, thats pretty nice actually. I was thinking about the smaller water blocks that mostly just cover the GPU. Is it really worth it to water cool the VGA?

stay away from thermaltake watercooling. a better heatsink + fan on the cpu will get you better results. dangerden or swiftech kits are the way to go

Yea that dangerden gpu cooler is nice, but On OCing my 2600+ system ive found that the thermaltake watercooling is alot better than any of my air cooling devices and i have alot. Also, because i know about the big HSF on video cards that cool one or none i put those tweak monster ram sinks on. I use those and they work great. :D

that is only one bolck though. Most other blocks don't cover the video ram. buy heatsinks if you are unsure.

What are you planning to spend on your water cooling?

100 - 200$

100 - 200$

That is going to limit you IMO, but I have had good experience with dangerden stuff. I have their TDX block, and it is a very nice piece. Should have a chipset block coming soon :D

How could that limit you? Isn't spending more than 200 a bit too much? You might as well buy an air conditioner and place your pc next to it. ;)

This seems pretty good too, for an all in one kit.
