i ahve a couple of questions sorry.
well frist my computer is new about 3-4 months old atm and ive already had to take it in twice once cause it wouldnt turn on at all that was the psu and second it had a overheating problem i think im not sure they "fixed" it but now its actring werid again and every now and then not that othen it will give me a blue screen of death and what ever sound i had on at that monment skips and keeps repaeating fast in the speakers then goes to the bsod.
also a couple times it has just skipped and like froze there and the sound skips in the speakers again, i had to restart it and then it ran normaly.
now this has mostly happen when im playing games (bf2142 once, wc3 about 3 times it happend, and counter strike once or twice) but it has also happend once or twice when i was just browsing the web and listening to music, was on msn to.
and one last thing is the computer is very nosey its not the fans it sounds like the hard drive or optical drive cant tell but the noise is coming from that area and its really annoying now, makes even more noise when i load something.
can someone plz help me i dont really want to take it in to the shop again as they seem pretty dogey. you should see the cable managment job they did.. worst ever!

It sounds like the memory is overheating or your hard drive may have some bad sectors.
What does the Blue Screen of Death say when it poops up? Somethin like "system memory dump to prevent damage.?" If so try some differnt memory or lower the timings.

i think it says something along those lines not 100% sure but.
i dont have any other memory and everything in the computer is new so sucks if its that.
sorry im pretty stupid with computers and whats lowing the timings?? how do i do that?

When you boot up your Pc hit the "delete" button repeatedly ( may not be delete, you may want to check your manual.) and that wll bring up the "bios." Once you are here, use your keyboard to scroll down to (usually) "advance Settings." Depending on the type of motherboard you have, there should be a "memory" settings to select (it is sometimes found under "cpu configuration"). Theres usually 4 sets of numbers that corispond to your memory, they may go in the order of 3-4-4-7. You can raise these numbers to slow down your memory, thus not making it work as hard and creating better stability.
If you cant figure it out PM me and we will get it figured out.

You could also try using the default settings in the bios.. usually available from the main menu in the bios.
If it's making lots of fan noise, then I'd really suspect it's overheating, and turning up the fan speed to try and cool the CPU down.
A good way to test this is to leave it off for quite awhile, then start it up, and just leave it running (without using it). If it's quiet and looks to be working ok, then start running it hard.. open multiple apps, get a game going, download something, etc. If the fan starts getting louder and then the system crashes, then it's most likely overheating still.
I'd suspect that they either put on too much (or too little) thermal paste, didnt mount the CPU cooler properly, or airflow around the cpu cooler isnt up to par.
I know that some computer builders will put a warranty sticker on them that prevents you from opening the case, and thereby voiding the warranty. If you dont have one of these, try to run the computer with the side panel off, and see if that helps it to run more stable.

About the sounds looping, that is most likely your video card. same exact thing happened to me in counterstrike and day of defeat and i just put a fan next to my geforce2 card(i know...) and now its fixed. about the bsod, no clue, but good luck.

so your saying its a cooling issue? cause DOD:S freezes on me and its really pissing me off.

hmmm thanks it hasnt happend for a while now i think i might have fixed it, and that it was a overheating problem cause last time it did it i was being pretty stupid and was playing a demanding game without my fans in the case :| (but it happend more times with the fan in) stupid me lol so i moved my fan to the back panel back and it seems to have cooled the enitre thing a lot, before the ppl that made my computer had put this big thingy at the end that sorta looks like a jets engine and it made it blow air only into the cpu cooling fan.. i think this was a dumb idea and have no idea what that big thing on the end was.
cept theres just a couple weried things still on my grapics card around about half of it is a big metal plate that doesnt touch the actualy graphic card just ends from the top all the way around the bottom and it looks to me as it isnt part of the actualy card and if i touch that metla part after the computer has run for a while its very hot, so im gonna install a new fan so that somethings cooling that. also my hdd doesnt have any cooling getting to it should i install another fan for that to?
o and does installing a window in my side panel void my warranty? cause im installing a window now but that coputer is only about 4 months old and still has almost 2 more years of warranty.
slo Lukifer122 i said it wasnt the fans that were being noisey there pretty quiet like they dont bother me but something else is making a lot of noise and it sounds like its my hard drive, and its alas made this noise nothing new no wait when i frist got it i dont remeber it this loud it just osunds like a loud loading noise like clicking. any one know how i can make it quieter?

Hard drives shouldnt make that much noise under normal usage, but then I guess the amount of noise that is considered "too much" is pretty subjective.
Is it a clunking or clicking sound? Or is it more of a grinding/crunching sound?
Clunking and clicking = can be bad
Grind/crunch = can be not so bad
There, that should be vague enough. :P

idle it only makes a noise every now and thing and its quiet once i run something its very noisey but after awhile the noise dies down a bit, umm not really sure as to the sound/s but its sorta like a grinding i guess buts its very noisey and quiet annoying, when i run an app the hdd light is just about fully on.
do you know any way i can make it quiter? should i take it in to the shop (still under warranty) or will they go wtf did you do and blame me and will make me pay as i put in a new fan and removed the wered thing they put in and cut out a window???
