Hell I get better scores with my 1900XTX than the 2900.

but deffinetly not as high as the 8800. The next card I"m going to get will be an 8800GTX!

PS. those are some huge pics. you might want to resize them down abit. :)

I think that's more due to beta or even alpha drivers than anything else. But I do gotta admit, that card is HUGE. We're talking krakens and dreadnoughts for jewelery! :D

That is a huge card, lets see how it shapes up though. I'm a fan of Nvidia, but I'm also a fan of competition. Let's see what performance is like after it hits the market.

Drum- love the reference to the MTG.

I heard that ati's lineup would be priced similarly to the 8800gts which is about its equal

Maybe these are just there mid range set of cards and they have a uber secret card that they are gonna release in a great swell of fan fair.

I think I just became a nVidia fan.

Man, if this is anywhere near what we are going to see when the cards hit the market, ugh, I don't even want to think about it.

You cant judge the card based off FPS alone. After 30 or so FPS, you cant tell the diffrence. There is an onboard physics processor aswell. And i have no doupt that 1gb of GDDR4 will show its potential when we get some more accurate benchmarks.

I hope they've fixed the slow crossfire bus aswell. 16 x 16 please!

pfffft dont know what ur sayin cana lolz ye 30 is rather smooth... but not totaly... some certian areas in different games cause lag.
so if ya gunna shoot fer a nice smooth game its gotta be atleast 70Fps

R600 looks like it's going to be a joke.

Especialy as people have been hinting that the 8900GTX / 8950GTX are going to be released very soon after the R600 if not at the same time... at around the same price....

Looks like Nvidia have decided not to play nice anymore ;)

H

P.S. there's already a thread about this in Video killed the radio star.

Humm, lets see. Intel kill AMD with Core 2 Duo
will Nvidia kill ATi with these 8800, it wouldn't surprise me much.

But i suppose as they are DX10 cards we won't know the full potential of either in full DX10 games, where ATi might take the lead, but i seriously doubt it, especially if the 8900 series comes outl

It really sucks that ATi's getting decimated, escecially since I'd rock the extended version of the 2900 if it didn't suck.

Of course, I'd need PCI-e before I upgrade my videocard (which is still and ATi, Radeon X800SE)

Heh. This computer is 3 years old, and I'm getting a 4 year old laptop soon, too. I'm so horribly poor that I can't afford to get new parts every tech cycle.

damn. I wish I could afford new shtuff.

I think my 9800xt needs a new heatsink. Whenever I play anything it looks like a freakin checkerboard, or there are artifacts everywhere. Otherwise it can render everything fine, but I think its overheateing.
