A whole lot of old computer stuff! Enermax PSUs around 250-300W, 4 IDE hard drives, one SCSI hard drive (Seagate Cheetah), one SCSI CD burner, one SCSI..... *drum rolling* slot-loading CD drive :D, two Pentium2 server boards /w on-board SCSI support and twin-P2 proccy support,
Pentium3 motherboard, Pentium4 botherboard, two Pentium2 400MHz, one Pentium2 300MHz, one Pentium3 650MHz, 64Mb x3 + 32Mb x4 + 256MB x2 SDRAM, a freaking huge and heavy server case, and two other cases.
I can'T wait to mess with the whole stuff! Im planning to use the board that came equipped with the dual 400MHz, and turn it into an internet-browsing machine and sharing files on the network. Should be more powerful than my Pentium3 781MHz! ^^
For now I only have to get that other SCSI board to work... it was working last night but now it doesn't anymore. The rig launches, but no beeps and doesn'T get to POST. Ill try to change the PSU to see if it'll work.
Oh, and Ill need help with the dual 400MHz board... it has two connectors - a normal ATX 20-pin, and a 24-pin... 24 is named Main and 20 is named ATX. Does it mean I need two power-supplies?? Ill take a shot of the whole board when Ill be able.

A guy was building computers and stopped building them. He was beginning a project, one of the large towers, for a CD burner tower. I inherited of everything ^^

Wow, that's quite the haul.
If I had that stuff, I'd probably go crazy making things.

Very nice, that is the stuff my dreams are made off! I don't know what it is about old PC parts but I get excited when thinking of making an old system.

That's nothing, Ill be getting more in a couple of weeks. The guy is not empty yet. xD
The best part is that the SCSI Slot-loading Drive (Pioneer brand) works perfecly. Too bad it's only an old Cd reader, it can't read CD-RW...
And I have to get a way to install an OS on it. Trying to get XP on it, but it keeps telling me it can't copy the first file, so my guess is that XP setup doesn't recognise the SCSI hard disk. Except that I can't specify a driver before it copy the files... does Windows 98SE supports install from a SCSI CD drive to a SCSI Hard Drive without using IDE material?
I also noticed the system freezes when trying to either install XP, trying to launch Damn Small Linux from CD, and once when I tried to first boot into NT Terminal Server edition before I formated. Ill try to run Memtest to see if it's RAM-related.
I have alot of... problems... with this board/system, I can't wait to get the other batch of junk he'll be giving me, in case there's the PSU I need for the other server board!

There should be an option when the install first starts to press F6 ( I think) to load a SCSI driver from diskette...

YEs, but it first needs to dump files somewhere in the system (either RAM or HD), I do press the F6 but it tells me the message before it can dump the fules.
But I found a culprit : I had bad RAM in it. One stick of 256Mb, one 64Mb and one 32Mb is all I have left :( I also have at least one faulty hard drive, we'll see how I can manage to use this one with the said 8Gb/15Gb total (for some reason Partition Magic doesn'T want me to partition the remaining, and I think it's better like that).
DSL (Damn Small Linux) now works from LiveCD. ^^ And all Ill have to try now is to install XP. Should work now.
