I am new to overclocking and really need some advice. I have a Pentium 125 mhz with 32MB of generic 72 pin EDO memory and an 8MB Savage 3D vid card. I currently have it setup with the stock heatsink and fan... and to trick it out even more I added 2 80mm case fans and a UV light kit. Don't be hatin' because my computer is so kick ass.

I heard from another site on the interweb that I can get my 125 mhz cpu all the way up to 175... is this true? If so that would be so kick ass.

Currently with this computer I can get about 275 FPS playing HL2 at the highest settings and a 1200 X 1600 resolution.... but I want more. Help me get more.

Do you think another 8MB of EDO would make it faster?

lol, try remounting the fans with some good thermal paste, or if you can get new thermal pads (like the stock ones that come with heatsinks) in 80mm size that would be good.

Don't use the EDO RAM, the newest stuff is called SIMM.

:P nice Dante, very nice.

thermal pads? thermalpads are pathetic. use some as5 or ceramique instead. and you cannot fit 184pin SIMM's into 72pin EDO slots. it is a pretty old setup but i think it still overclocks from the bios like the newer ones.

If it does work from the BIOS it would be jumpers on the Mobo.

I might only have 11 posts here, but I am pretty familiar with Dante and his jokes. :)

Damn you guys need to go to a genetics lab and grow yourselves a sense of humor. I am kidding.......I know how to overclock, and I highly doubt I would be getting 275 FPS in HL2 with the rig I described. Those should have all beeen indicators that I was JOKING! :D

Well... If you had a good enough ATI in that bad boy... It could out preform some of today's computers with nvidia's on HL2. :D

um, not with the specs he described above. Vid card can only take you so far. No matter how hot the card is.

um, he was joking, as in he was payin out Nvidea by saying an old rig like that with ati is better than the top end rig with nvidea now. geddit?
