Far from my first post, but as an introduction nonetheless.
I'm Omega (more often/recently, I go by the alias OmegaM1A1), and I've been here awhile. Feel free to message me (on AIM preferrably, but I'm usually on all services) if you need any help. I am a high school student, however, so if you get the "I'm busy" response, it's nothing personal.

Hello n00bs! Here are my words of encouragement.
Don't worry if you're a n00b! We were all there at one point, and I'm finding new ways to be a n00b every day!
Don't worry about getting a response to your thread that's like, "OMG n00b RTFM" or anything, because we're nice here, and you won't get anything like that. And if you do, the mods will beat up the kid and steal his lunch money and buy you a Coke. Or at least they should.

I joined up a couple weeks ago. I have a couple old steel ATX cases that I want to fix up. My main PC is in an aluminum Chieftec case.
One of the steel cases was given to me by a friend about a week before he died. He's the one who got me started with computers. I have not made up my mind what I want to do to his old PC case because he was into a lot of different stuff. I’m leaning more toward a NASA theme because he had 4 space shuttle pictures in his computer room.
I was going to practice on the other steel case first. So far the only mod I have done is cutting the ribbon cables to the drives to make them less wide. I'm going to paint the box red and dye the drive panels black.

I joined a few days ago, so this is my introduction!
I'm Elenril, a high school student in Sydney, Australia. I'm currently working on a feminine-garden-elegant-floral-thing case mod, for my Design and Technology assignment.
Compared to my friends I'm a hardcore 1337 geek, but I'm still pretty much a n00b. I'll try not to be too noobish though!
So far, I've really been enjoying this forum, it's a great place =]

I'll be making a worklog soon. I'm only in the design stages right now, but I'll be starting the actual mod in a few days, once i get time to go round to the shops and buy supplies.
edit: just thought i'd post a link to the thread: http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7815. If you want to check it out and maybe give me some suggestions, that'd be very much appreciated.

Hey everyone,
This is actually my third day as a member of this forum. It's been very refreshing to be a part of a board that doesn't have everyone flaming each other because they think their idea is stupid or anything like that. Everyone so far has been really nice, and I have gained a lot of helpful information by browsing the different posts.

Hi all, Im XcOM, been known as XcOM since i was a kid, and its "XcOM" not Xcom, or xcom, XcOM
I hope you all enjoy your stay here, and may it be a long stay.
As some of you may have noticed TBCS is a friendly place here, Flaming is very rare, and when it does rear its head the MODs sort it out very quickly.
You will always get people offering help here, we offer constructive critisum (Spelling?) and advice, ask a question and it will be answered. There is a vast wealth of untaped knownlage here for you to use.
All of you n00b's, Don't worry, we were all n00bs at one point, you only learn from asking and making mistakes (Ouch! cuts hand for the UMTEENTH time)
Enjoy.

Now I'm 24, and I feel I know enough to get the job done! :D I will be around for a good while. Something kewl to keep me outta trouble.
I wish more people would JOIN its Free!, So I could readmore worklogs, and hear some more ideas, and Hopefully get some more tutorials going. More Pictures would be good also.

I guess I should introduce myself. I'm 29, I've been a Marine for 9 years this month and currently stationed in Southern California. I'm married with 2 kids, my daughter is 4 and my son is 1. I wish there was more time in the day so I could spend time with my family and then still have time for modding. Unfortunately I tend to get wrapped up with some part of my modding and usually spend a lot if not all of my free time with it. I joined this site about 2 months ago and completely love it. My current projects are the Monitor Mod (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6802), Barebone Case (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7461) and Laser Sensore Button (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7088). I'm the type of person who thinks you should go strong or not at all. I love to push the limits of my skill level to see what I can and can't do. The problem with that is if you read any of my work logs I don't know when to pull back or stop improving on my idea.
Oh yeah by the way I'm not really a redneck like my name and sig suggests, I just like how it tends to stand out from the crowd of online names.

Thx man, I've got tons of ideas floating around in my head but I think I'll just leave the Monitor Mod the way it is now and use my other ideas for future mods.
When I'm in this forum I feel like a kid in a candy store. I look forward to seeing what new idea people have and sometimes I can't help but share my ideas with other people.

Let me make an addendum to this.
Length of stay at TBCS, and Postcount don't really matter. The Rep Boxes don't matter either, but they're a more important gauge of the person.
New people/Guests: Do not be intimidated. As several others have said, we're very polite to most people (During my tenure here, we've only been abrasive to one person, and, well, he earned it, he's banned now for asshole-ery), and willing to help.

Some because of the tools they have available to them and the others because of the first hand knowledge they possess. There's nothing wrong with not being number one. Being your best, making the most of your time and doing what you love is most important. Trying to think of new mods will be your passion and bringing them to fruition will be your biggest challenge. I just have to say, that this is a great website for those interested in modding cases, I just signed up a few days ago and I already learned so much about modding, if I have a question there is always someone there to help me either by telling me how to do something or where I can find great deals on hardware.

OK, I'll break my post virginity...
I've been a "guest" here for well over a year, off and on. I only have one "mod" under my belt so far, and that was a simple light and color scheme with the changing of the color of the LED's on the case. I have 2 mods in the planning stages (well, one of them I've cut some steel on) but no real direction or finances to continue right now.
By the end of this year, though, I plan to have an active worklog going on one of the two, depending on my ability to acquire a very rare item to turn into the case for the second (and more fun) mod.

don't know if there is another introduction thread that is newer, just did a search and this is what pulled up.
First off, I have to say Wow to all the awesome mods on this forum. You guys are really really good. I have been browsing this forum for a while, decided that i hated being a guest so i finally registered. I am very much a noob when it comes to modding, The only real modding I have done is of course, the cutout fan on the side of the case that everyone starts out with :P I am also in the process of modding my Old fat version PS2 into a clear lexan case and converting it from a sliding out drive to a pop open top loader. i dont know if that makes sense.
unfortunately, the computer mod I wanted to do has been put on hold due to no money or time, due to the fact I am working full time and going to school full time (should be writing a speech right now for my business class, but of course i am slacking :P)
anyways... My name is Bill and I am from the Potato State of Idaho. (yes, we do have computers in Idaho too :P ) I am 23, currently a college student and employed at a local used entertainment store. (if you have a question about movies, music, etc, im your guy)
anyways, sorry bout the long post, just wanted to introduce myself and say whats up? :)
