Ok i was wondering if anyone knew a way to reformat with out the xp pro cd, cause i lost it :( at a lan or in my friends car wich got totaled this winter and i didnt notice i was missing it untill i needed it...hate it when that happens. So i was sondering if there is a way to delete all the files and i mean all the files except those that are needed to run windows and th progs that came with windows such as iternet explorer.

you can download it from windows in a 6-part floopy (The XP Pro CD) if thats any help

thats to boot up the cd if you dont currently have an os installed.... i lost my xp cd i don't have my cd key or anything it gone what i do have though is the box butt that dont help........thanks anyways anyone else have any suggestions?

go to my computer, left click on the drive, format...

and that'll work itll get ride of everthing except xp i wont need my cd-key? what should i set the allocation unit size to? and then should i cheak "quick format" and/or "enable compression" befor clicking start...

By the way thanks Frakk ur a god man this helps alot :D Tnx again its gretly appreciated :D

lol. you can quickformat and enable compression but not neccessary allocation unit size can be default.
