Hi folks^^
so first up some things about me: I'm 16 years old living in germany so dont expect well english xD. lets go on now...
yes this mod isn't my first one so im not a modding noob but not a pro like crimson sky or tribaloverkill ;) . Im visiting this forum for about 9 months every day, but today i finally decided to log in here :).
what could you expect here?
well i guess very bad spelling and more worse jokes ;) many pictures of my daily progress and many questionmarks in my replies, because i think im just understanding half of what you are saying, so please be gentle if im rude, i don't want to ;)
so here is it, im gonna build a casemod looking like the unit 4 in tchernobyl, here you go with the case some sketches and some movie shots:

*opening the dictinary* well lets see....
today i went to the lokal hardware store and buyed *some* modding stuff i need (and yes i know that i have to type the "i" big, my english teacher shouted at me on the last exam but i dont care here :D )
so here's the list of what i bought:
2 fiberglas vinyl's for creating a unique airduct with harder and resin..
normal filling compount
isolatin foam to create the shape of the duct
a protective mask for the disgusting dust while sanding xD
large tiles of *i cant remember that stupid name" wood for the ground shape of the building
a very long flat steel piece, i guess its about 2 and a half meters long, but i cant tell you how many inches they are...

hey guys... im sad.... i want to hear your opinion about the mod them ive chosen, becaus a german kick ass modder sad that the theme of chernobyl sucks, well it was an accident and many people died because of it.. i really dont know what to do now, i like the style and the theme but my conscience says that he is right... hes according it with a world trade center casecon so im really sad and confused and dont know what i should do, plz help me

I think the theme is great! Despite the fact that Chernobyl was a terrible tradgedy, it was a hugely significant event in history that changed our perception of nuclear energy. By modding a computer based on it, as an artist you need to stand behind your choice of themes with confidence. Besides, it is not like you are celebrating the loss of life, you are celebrating it's historical significance. I would say the same thing to someone modding a comp to look like the WTC.

Yeah man, do the mod! Think of WWII. That was pretty damn tragic if you ask me, but look at the hundreds of games, mods, movies, etc. that are based off it.

I like the tile look. You could cover that green paint eith some UV reactive paint and put it under a UV light. That would look cool, you could use it on other stuff aswell to give it that radioactive look.

Cool. If your using UV lighting you can use highlighter pens to pick out certain parts of an object. The liquid or gell based ones work best.

What colour LED's will you be using? If you use UV green coolant use UV LED's, that will look awesome and fit perfectly with the mod.

well more like wood i would say + it doesnt crack and the dust is very fine so wear a cap, good to sand, but strong surface, its like pressed paper, like to work with it, and the best thing is, its cheap, 40x60 cm cost ~2 €uro pressboard is no comp to that stuff

but dood? the tubes looks "dirty" dont know if its just something that happenes when you drain the system for water again, but remember to use fluid specialy made for watercooling... otherwise your hoses and blocks will get dirty and may effect the performance:)
(you probertly know this but would be a sad way to ruin a system on:p)

the chimney will do something :D smoke comes out( yeah really realistic) and ill add low current LEDS in these chimney holder things those are connected to an uber LED fader so i have those attention lights so planes dont crash into them

I think he means these fans.. and they are 80mm ones.. The problem with the heater core Froop is using is that it is 16x19cm and that is no ordinary size.. I have a rad like that too and for the longest time I was wondering how could I fix some fans on it.. 2x120mm fans would stretch the dimensions, but 4 80mm one fit just right with some room to spare.. Unless he could find a fan that fits in the 16x16cm area... there is no nice looking option.. Still, if the 4 fans are quiet ones, but with enogh back pressure.. they will work :)

ok ill give a try :)... so this stuff i put in there is.. cotton :D inside is a 10 cm ccfl color blue xD i wrapped it in clear wrapping paper and violate it with a normal hair dryer ;) somewhere on the foil i made some drips of black paint. yeah thats all i think.. you can see how i made the rock in the video eh?^^

If gypsum doesn't work, try an adhesive used in constructions.. The one used with drywalls. It gets much tougher and sets as hard as concrete.. sure, it's gonna be harder to work with, but also harder to fall apart.. also, it will not suffer from water or humidity.. I have no idea what adhesives you might find in Germany, but here we have them cheap: 5 euros, 5 kg bag:) hope I helped

Very cool progress man. Is there some way you could leave the gypsum broken like that (the building did explode and should be broken) and just seal it so it won't break further in transport.

well, it wont break because its held by the wires, thats the main reason why i added em and because it looks soo cool :D, IF something break apart i just use this ultra speed glue ;)

Looks fantastic. What are you going to use to paint it? I think you should use an air brush and get that awesome effect just like Crimson Sky's Doom 3 mod.
