I'll look tonight and see if I can spot anything. I'll let ya know later (same hemisphere = roughly the same night sky)

If you know your long and lat plus which direction you are looking then use this online planetarium (http://www.neave.com/planetarium/) and mouse over the stars that interest you.

I would say look at one of those online plaentariums. I just looked up and didn't see anything that bright. Although it could be hiding behind one of the trees/houses that block my view...damn subrubia.

The moon?

Now that was funny. Dude, probably a planet. I'm no astronomer but some of the planets can look really bright depending on what time of year it is.

Now, what is really wild is that if you see a real faint light moving across the sky but isn't blinking. That's a satellite.

The moon?

Now that was funny.

yeah, i agree, real funny 'almost chocked' funny lol

and as the others had said, its prob a planet

another cool situation is to g outside when there is no street light AKA black out
last time that happened to here it was a full moon, and it was so much light that you could see the shadow of the power lines on the ground

PS: I put on my tinfoil hat in case it really was aliens !

It may have been a planet but it was really bright compared to that pic I thought it was a helecopter or something I shall look again tonight to see if its still there.

it's Venus. It's always the brightest object in the night sky other than the moon this time of year. pretty awesome, was watching it last week.
