Now that I have a new Lexa with $1400 worth of components and extras, I can finally build another fun Mod. The parts from the Matrix and Dumb Terminal are going to Project Interceptor. The rough idea of what I'm doing is pictured below.

I will be adding real handcuffs, an ASP baton for the handle and a real (case) badge. I was once Military Police so I still have these things. The case will be a general police theme. It's not part of a specific department or city (although the pics above says Chicago to get the "look"). I also want to incorporate a working lightbar. I've seen them on toy police cars so I will find a way to work that in. Let me know if you see anything online that will work.

When completed I may give this case to one of my brothers, both are cops. Hop in the caged back seat for the next installment of TGS Modding!

I really like the idea of a police case. Especially with your brothers being cops. Think it will be a nice gift.

What about making the case look like a police car. You have these nice lights (hopefully) which may indicate a car. You could make the window look like a cars side window or ad a radiator grill like cars have as a fan grill.

pandas are black and white, just like some police schemes. :P

You could use the handcuffs to ornate the fans on the front :D

When I read black and white panda, the first thing I thought was "Initial D" !!!

But seriously, I think this could be a very cool mod. Maybe you could integrate a donut in there somewhere.. hehe

As for the lightbar, I found an LED flashlight for $1.25 that had red and blue flashing LEDS with an on-off switch... runs off of cr-232 (cmos) batteries too.. should be easy to rig up to a power supply off the board somewhere, or tap into a molex.

I thought the same thing. (That Panda paint job goes great on many Japanese hatchbacks from the 80s seen a couple 1st gen Integra's painted as such that looked hot)

Should be a cool case when you are finished, my father is an ex-cop so I'll have to show him the pics.

Either I'm magically telling the future or you've posted those sketchup drawings before.

Either way, have fun. =]

Am I reading this correctly? You're scrapping Dumb Terminal?

Also, I've got a few ideas in regards to a lightbar--I'll PM them as soon as I find em--in the process of moving, and I'm getting married in 12 days, so things are just a tad bit hectic.

Oh sh*t. Your selling the LCD? Damn, I'll keep that in mind. I may have questions later.
