Anybody else use this tool?
I love them it makes cutting to size sooooo easy. Its not as quick as a jigsaw but is much more accurate.
Only problem is the cheap ones I've been using tend to last very little time

The place I get them from is out of stock so I had a look for another source and found this type with replacable blades

Looks like it may do the job but I don't know whether it will be as good as the cheap ones.

The "cheap" kind lasted me 7 mods, have just started using my second.
I wonder if I should put the first one in a frame and hang it on the wall ;)
Those arent half bad for intricate work, however if your an inpatient person (me) then they are the worst tool you can ever use to cut anything larger than a quarter.

How did they last you that long mashie I got thro 3 in about 4 mods :D
I'm hoping the new one won't destroy my hands :D

just because they look similair doesnt mean they are. I've seen the same type of housing using different types of blades. The ones most mod supply sites sell are utter crap, however the radioshack unit is pretty good when it comes to wear and tear. I think its under $10 there.

No idea but I know that using a leather glove will save your hands though.

Yeah I use a thinsulate glove but it gets a bit toasty when doing lots of nibbling.
I would LOVE to see electric nibblers. I've used hand nibblers before, as well as pneumatic nibblers and I have to say that I prefer the pneumatic ones by far. Unfortunatly, I do not have an air pump, so electric ones would be quite handy. Maybe even a dremel attachment? (It could be possible by using gears...)

I was thinking the same kyle when I was doing searches for nibblers last night. Surely there is a way of making an electric version of the air nibblers :)
Here is what I could find:

The drill attachment one looks nice. I wonder how fast it can cut...

Erm $1078 tho :(
No offense guys I think that is totally rediculous. the point of a nibbler is to offer a cheap alternative to case cutting. If your going to buy an electric or pneumatic tool ya might as well buy a jigsaw.

A jigsaw isnt as accurate as a nibbler tho :) It takes very little finishing to complete a nibbled edge. Also you can't always cut with a jigsaw its only any good on sheet material.
I guess it depends on the blade you use. we've cut 1\4" steel with a jigsaw, I think it was the stock all purpose blade too.

I wasnt meaning the thickness really, just when you have angled metal and bends you cant always get a jigsaw in place to make a cut :D
