A few good riddles for everyone. (If you don't like riddles, then I quote one of Britain's funniest comedys, Blackadder, to you: "Get stuffed!" :p )

1.
A murderer is condemned to death. He has to
choose between three rooms. The first is full of
raging fires, the second is full of assassins with
loaded guns, and the third is full of lions that
haven't eaten in 3 years. Which room is safest
for him?

2.
A woman shoots her husband. Then she holds
him under water for over 5 minutes. Finally, she
hangs him. But 5 minutes later they both go out
together and enjoy a wonderful dinner together.
How can this be?

3.
What is black when you buy it, red when you use
it, and gray when you throw
it away?

4.
Can you name three consecutive days without
using the words Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday?

5.
This is an unusual paragraph. I'm curious how
quickly you can find out what is so unusual about it.
It looks so plain you would think nothing was wrong
with it. In fact, nothing is wrong with it! It is unusual
though. Study it, and think about it, but you still may
not find anything odd. But if you work at it a bit, you
might find out. Try to do so without any coaching!

7.
(This one is interesting! There is only one correct answer, but there are in fact many answers that work. [It's meant to be that way.] Can you find the right one?)

One is one. Two is one. 4 is one. 8 is one. 16 is not one. What are they?

8.
What is wrong with this page of riddles?

For number 7, here's what I have.

One + one = Two.

One + two + one = four

One + two + one + four = eight

one + eight + one + four + one =/= sixteen

it's a pattern involving the last 2, then three, then four number-related words.

One + four + one + four does not equal eight - it equals ten
I think you meant to say: one + two + one + four = eight
which logically would make: one + two + one + four + one + eight = seventeen (not 16)

I think I've answered all the riddles except #7. But all my answers are already posted, so I wont repeat them. :D

<hijack> Here's another riddle:

Complete the pattern:

O T T F F S S E ? ?

What are the last 2 letters?

Nice one, Omega. That's not the correct answer, unfortunately, but that's one I hadn't heard before. I'll give it another day, then I'll spill the beans. (Which means no one else got it either, yet.)

And Lukifer, don't worry about hijacking, as long as it's a riddle, it doesn't matter!

In fact, if anyone has any good riddles, post 'em!

The Black Pumpkin
05-27-2007, 12:08 AM
Sorry everyone! I was out of town Thursday through this morning.

Ryoken, no worries, I said it was open to anyone to post riddles!

Now, for the long awaited answer! (Or maybe not? )

One is one. Two is one. Four is one. Eight is one. Sixteen is not one. What are they?

They are homonyms.

Won. Too. For. Ate.

Okay, some of my sarcastic humor for ya:

Target is one. Kmart is one. Walmart is not one.

What are they?

Hint: It's more or less an opinion thing, but try to think like me (yeah right, like that's easy, lol).

Yep, Omega guessed it, lol.

Other possible correct answers are:

Stores I like shopping at.
Stores that don't give me a migraine from the color scheme, lighting, etc.
Stores that aren't Walmart

...and the list goes on, lol. :D
