I need a new mouse, and my buddies said go with the laser g7. I wasnt sure if I should really spend the money for just a mouse. I play bf2 a lot and they said it would improve my chopper skills. Let me know, thanks.

Hmmm well if you want a wireless go with the G7 but then you could be half way through a game and ur mouse dies, Not a good thing when you are flying in BattleField2. Personally i use the G5, Its got a lightweight cord and all the same features as the G7 ( i think ). And the plus is you dont have to worry about stupid batteries. Also the G5 has a thing where you can add weight to your mouse, so the mouse is right for the user.

Hope that helps

If you don't want to spend the for just a mouse, then don't. Your BF2 chopper skills will most likey not help you out on your resume. Unless you want to fly those un-maned miltary spy aircraft. :p

By the way, I got a G7 and I like it. The battery problem dying mid-game isn't really a problem. There is an indicator on the mouse telling you how many bars you got left. I just don't bother to check. But when it did die out while I was playing, swapping is really fast. Probably not fast enough to save you from a chopper crash. But you can just check it before a BF2 gaming session and switch batteries if you are low while you are waiting to spawn, loading maps, etc. It really isn't a big of a deal for me.

Go with the G5 if you want to save some money. If you want to save more, go with another mouse.

I've just purchases the new G7, the one that kinda has blue lightning on it. It is great. For me the weight cartridge was over kill. If you wanna get a really good no thrills gaming mouse go for one of those Razor gaming mice, they r really gd aswell.

I have a G7 and love it! It takes about 3 second to swap batteries if you are in a pinch. I have the carbon fiber look type.

The MX Revolution is a good mouse, one of my friends has it. It is expansive but it is still very good. The G7 comes with two lithium ion batteries that last ages. I swap mine every morning just to be sure thow, USB charging doesn't take long.

Why you flying choppers with a mouse? You want to compete in a chopper against me, pick up a joystick.

The G7 is the mouse I would buy IF I wanted wireless. I have tested a few wireless setups and took them all back (thanks Fry's). It seems that they all have issues and the keyboard or mouse will just randomly stop working until you "sync" them.

EDIT; Ladies and Gentlemen may I direct your attention to my 1500th post!

Airbozo you are right about the wireless desktops. My computer came with one (a logitech btw) and the keyboard always seemed to die on me no mater how many times I replaces it but the mouce was fine. Anyway at the moment i'm using a G15 keyboard and the G7 mouse. I have no complaints about either and find the G7 to be perfect for me. If your are more into pro gaming corded mice are the way to go with the G5 leading the pack.

i'm not sure what brand it was (i think logitech) but my bother got a wireless keyboard and mouse and gamepad combo and he had no problems. the keyboard batteries (2, 4, or 6 AA's) lasted for 3 months and the mouse lasted about a month (3 AAA).

EDIT: i just checked and it was by intel.

this was the gamepad (http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Wireless-Series-Gamepad-Accessory/dp/B00005853O)

and this was the whole set (http://www.intel.com/pressroom/images/misc/wireless_series.gif)

This is the joystick I have;
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=12,CONTENTID=6954
I modified the throttle lever (well added to it anyway) by putting a simple clamp on it that my thumb rests in. It makes it easy to use the throttle (my only complaint with that joystick and this is my second one).

This is the mouse I use on my gaming rig;

Never let me down....

This is the mouse, uhm, er, ahh, controller, I use on my other rig, mainly for sketchup and stuff;

Except mine is modded (only painted really).
