I am about 90% satisfied with the case. Two gripes I have about the case itself is the back PSU mounting plate. I was fiddling around with the thumb screws just to see if I could line the plate up so there would be no gaps on the top or bottom. It’s just not physically possible.

Second is one of the side panels seem to be a bit loose at the front of the case. I tried fiddling with it a few times but with no avail. I didn’t want to bust it up or scratch it so I just gave up on it. I can lightly press in on the side panel and there is some give. To me that could mean a future rattling problem.

And lastly I had performance-pcs slightly mod my bottom hard drive cage so if I wanted to I could fit 8800GTX’s in SLI later on down the road. All they did was flip and mounted the hd cage sideways to get an extra inch or so of clearance for that bottom card. And that’s what I wanted. I could have done something like that myself but I rather leave it to the pros because knowing my luck I would some how screw it up.

Well.. after I unscrewed the mounting bracket on the hd cage to inspect the work, I noticed one of the holes they drilled on the bottom of the cage doesn’t quite line up with the manufacture drilled holes on the drive cage. It took me a good 4 to 5 minutes just to screw the little bugger back into place. I had to push in on the hard drive cage with one hand to somewhat line up the hole while at the same time try to line up the screw with one hand and screw it in. I personally am no fan of having to force in the screw like that. I wouldn’t want to put all that pressure on the thing with the drives in there. I may try to drill out that hole a bit more and maybe get some kind of nut to fasten it on the bottom of the cage.

Heres some pictures

You can clearly see that it just doesn't line up

Could someone tell me whats the best way to try and drill that hole out a bit more? I don't want to screw it up any more than what it is.

Why not use rivets?

But to drill it out, I'd clamp the metal together and drill from the bottom up.

I was thinking about doing that. I just wasn't sure what the best way to go about it was. I'll give it a go tomorrow after work.

As for the rivets, the left side of the hard drive cage slides under a bracket thats held to the case with rivets and the right side is held in by screws. If I were to use rivets on the right side I wouldn't be able to remove the hard drive cage to install my hard drives.

After looking at the mount I realized the bracket thats held in by rivets seem to be a bit loose which leaves that side of the hard drive cage some wiggle room. While the cage can't come completely free from the case it does move a little on that left side. What would be the best way to try and tighten that up? Could I just use some pliers or try to clamp the rivets down more? I could just picture that thing rattling away the second the hard drives spin up.

I am tempted to call performance-pcs and see what they have to say. I'd hate to have to send this case back and pay $25 for shipping just for something as simple as a few two loose rivets and a miss drilled hole.

for the loose rivets you can always just drill them out and re rivet them.

just get a rivit remover... way easyer then drilling just line it p punch done.. they about 20 bucks for a cheap one..

and if you want to make a hole bigger just keep moveing up drill bit sizes.. and to fix it when it tappers just hammer it down..

ok I got the hard drive rack all straightened out. That's not an issue anymore. My next question is about that loose side panel. It's loose near the front of the case. If you gently press in on it there's some give. Any ideas on how to try to fix that?
