Thats really not all that bad. Though I live in the Lightning strike capital of the U.S.
When lightning strikes around here the thunder is loud enough to break a window.

Thats just a wimpy heat storm :D Looks Kewl Though.

Check this out (http://www.tornadochaser.com/images/lightn3.jpg)

I was almost struck on time, I was comming out of a steakhouse and "fraaaboomm. .rumumba" from the sky lightning catches a palm tree and the side of the building on fire . . knocked me on the ground. . .Was temporarly blinded. From about 50ft away.

Another time I was driving and it blew up a transformer up right in front of me, And another time it split a pine tree in half in front of my grandparents house about 15 feet away, My uncle felt it through the keyboard.

The saying lightning dosen't strike the same place twice is FALSE it hit that same tree twice.

When i went to florida it was basically like that picture Eclecticos is referring you to lol but sometimes the rain doesn't even last 5 minutes.

When I lived in Colorado, we used to get these freak thunderstorms. Came out of nowhere and got really bad. One time, I was BBQ'ing on the deck and watched the lightning take out a neighbors windmill. Blew parts all over the hood. Another time I was sitting in my living room and lightning struck the solar panels on the house across the street from me. I felt the strike coming, all the hair on my arms and legs stood up, the air changed and I could actually smell the positive/negative (not sure which) charge in the air, then BAMM! solar panel parts rained down on several houses. If anyone would have been in our front yard they would have made a trip to the hospital just for glass cuts...

I had a freaky thunderstorm yesterday. It was sunny as can be all morning, then around sometime in the afternoon we got hit by strong winds, then the lighting came and the loudest thunder I've heard in years followed. It only lasted for about an hour. Then it was just sunny for the rest of the afternoon. lol

I guess thats typical weather here in idaho though. It's so random and unpredictable. I think its due to our geography or something.

We get them now and again but up north they can have some really bad ones. But usally they will be forecasted not freak ones like you have in the states.

well, after i uploaded the movie, it wen away!..... FREAK !

the thing i found wierd was that the thunderbolts did not hit the ground but arced from one cloud to another, with VERY LITTLE sound, which is kinda weird because the thing was right over my head

and I agrea with you folks, its was not bad at all, but I found it weird! never saw something like this before

the thing you can't see in the clip is the size of the thunderbolts, they where HUGE thick sono of a bitchis

@Eclecticos:
fraaaboomm. .rumumba you got that right, it almost sound like something ripping like a piece of cloth or something

@Airbozo: you could smell it ! damn, the one time i was close to something like this I only had the hair thing, i was crossing a street and was in the midle of it and suddenly i feel it, and stuff from discovery channel start to go trough my mind, and before i could react a electrify pole right in front of got a direct hit, i felt the charge TROUGH THE MY SHOES and it hurt like hell all the way up to the family jewels
