$50USD more for .2GHz?

3.4GHz @ $95USD (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116196)

Seems like the average price increase in .2GHz increments is more like $10USD, not $50USD.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010340343%2050001157%201051707842%201050706985&bop=And&CompareItemList=N82E16819116004%2CN82E16819116197% 2CN82E16819116196

$115USD max would be much more reasonable I would think. Anything under that would be a hot hardware deal. Otherwise, I'll just buy a 3.4GHz and overclock it. ;)

Get the Pentium D 960 3.6Ghz

You won't be disappointed.

You will be if your board doesn't support it. ;) :p

Also though, $349USD (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116247)? Psh, forget it. Get a new motherboard/core 2 duo for that price.

Motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131032) + C2D Processor (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115003) = $328.30USD w/ shipping included

Now you have $20.07USD to put into your savings jar as well as the option for upgrades in the future. ;) :)

....and just because I'm bored. The other way around, a cheaper C2D but with a better board.

Motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131073) + C2D Processor (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16819115013) = $331.43USD w/ shipping included

Still saving you $17.57USD. Anything less than $150USD+ for a processor is obsolete now-a-days. imo at least.

Well that was fun. lol
