Hey all, this is my first mod so I expect to make a few mistakes (I have already!)

The main theme will be a gloss black exterior with a gloss white interior, I also decided to use Xilence fans for the red, plus they seem to be decent fans for the price.
Some of the mod's i'll be doing are:

Painting interior and exterior
Modifying exhaust to fit two 92mm fans (was 80mm)
Modify intake to fit two 120mm fans (was 80mm).
Replace plastic intake with steel mesh grill.
Side window mesh mod.
Filling line around the door and and filling lock hole to give a smoother look.
Suspended hard drives as the 120mm fan mod will take away previous HDD cages, though I might put some rails on the floor of the case *idea*.

Some pics of how far I've got:

Start with the front panel, cutting the lock out:

Cutting out the front plastic grill, I cut off a little extra, the colour change is where i've filled the hole in and sanded it.

Intake cut, waiting for aluminium plate to come where the 120mm fans will be mounted on:

This is how I wanted the side panel to look:

Though I extended this to cut off the handle:

The exhaust where 2 92mm fans will be mounted, i'm also waiting for some aluminium to arrive to make a plate for this:

Some of the insides painted:

Need's a sand and repaint here:

This is one of the fans i'm using:

I've got mesh, some more fans, aluminium and pop rivets coming this week. Friday is supposed to be a nice day so I will get the rest of the inside painted and put back together.

Oh, the spec for what's going inside:

A64 3500 w/ Freezer 64
Gigabyte K8N Sli
XFX Geforce 7600GS
1GB Kingston
250GB SATA Western Digital
80 IDE Western Digital
80GB IDE Seagate

The motherboard and GFX card are silent and the CPU fan is very quiet as it's on a fan controller at 7v, i'll probably have all the case fans at 7v so it will hopefully be a very quiet system! :D ;)

Just to give you an idea of the type/gauge/diameter of the mesh:

And look what came today!

That black stuff is so more trim for the fan holes.

The plan for this weekend is to have a go at the plastic facia installing the mesh and filling the neccesary parts.

Update.

Cutting out the rear fan mount/plate:
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/suicidle_tramp/modding/exhaust%20panel%20cut.JPG

Filed smoother:
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/suicidle_tramp/modding/exhaust%20panel%20filed.JPG

I've also been leveling out the cuts on the side panel as they weren't as staight as I would like. Got one more side to do on it but ran out of dremel discs :(

Anybody got an input on the ideas? Done anything similar to the front panel?

I like what you did to the front panel, I've done alot of things on the same panel on my Blue Matrix, but nothing like it. You woill probably put meshing too on the bottom of the front panel?

I like peanuts ;)
