Hello Everyone,
Recently we asked for a willing participant to come forward and help develop a new project, the TBCS Modcast. One of our forum regulars, Omega, has stepped up and we are getting to work on what should be an exciting new addition to our site. Please join me in congratulating Omega on his new position and wishing him luck in this endeavor!

oooh, I like the way this sounds!
Congratz omega! ...psh, first you get to meet Paul and see PD3 in person and now this. Your one lucky guy!
So I don't suppose we can get more info on this new modcast thing could we JD? Is it just a modding podcast? That would be AWESOME!
Can't wait to see whats to come of the future with this, good luck guys!

Good luck :). Gonna host it under a different tab, maybe, or would you link it to the main page?

I don't want to give too much away (anticipation is so fun to cause, sorry =D) but I will say that we're hashing out exactly what kind of podcast this is going to be right now.
We're unlclear about how to distribute it right now, but I'm sure that'll be hashed out before the first broadcast.
I can't wait to get this off the ground, seriously. I think you guys would like it.

Congratulations, on the upgrade to Preacorian Omega!
Modcast Huh? Is it anything like the teamspeak?
Or is it some type of video thing?
I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Haven't gotten feedback or anything... Starting? Agenda? How often will one come out?
Also, can't wait until this thing gets rolling, and see what we can do. Modcast is drawing attention, but kinda seems "stuck between a stack of papers."

We do have alot going on at the moment and we are still developing the base of the project. I hope to have this going soon, but it's hard to say when.

Right now, we're in a bout of getting content, writing scripts, doing audio work, creating graphics, etc. We've not taken the time to set up an agenda or anything, but that's also because this project is about 4 people (Myself, Luke, Jon & Dave) collaborating during their free time. (Which happen to be in different time zones and such, plus stuff like work and *gasp* I've got a social life too ;))
Also, the Modcast really is stuck in between larger things. The Modder's Challenge, she Super Secret Project, trying to increase the functionality of the forums, etc.
Trust me. The Modcast will make it's presence well known when it's time arrives. That might just be awhile, though.
LIES OMEGA DOESNT HAVE A LIFE...HE HAS A WOW ACCOUNT :P
just messin omega....cant wait to see where this project goes!

Oh hey.
If any of you have suggestions, e-mail them to omega@thebestcasescenario.com. Fresh, new opinions on different aspects of the modcast could very well change the whole structure of it, mainly because the angle me and Jon have been taking could differ from some of your ideas.
Don't be shy, you too could help TBCS. ;)

We are rounding third base and are close to posting the first ever Modcast. Omega and Eclecticos are producing the material and are doing a great job. If you have ideas for content let me or one of them know and we'll take it into consideration. If your project stands out, we'll make you famous.
Omega

Basically what Jon said, shoot any of us (Me, Eck or Jon) a PM or email (Me and Jon have TBCS email addresses, jon's is jdbnsn@thebestcasescenario.com obviously, mine is in the post above Jon's).
Right now, We really are open to ideas.
But as Jon said, we're also very close to releasing the first ever Modcast.
All we really need to do honestly is record the script and do some audio/video editing. The first episode should be released sometime this week or early next week. Stay tuned. ;)
cant wait to see/ hear it.... sounds like it will be a cool idea!

Well, you could help us write scripts, do website design, logo design, a whole bunch of other stuff that I probably can't think of right now.

Booya! The Modcast is in the house! With lots of hard work and repetition we have finally got this puppy on it's feet. We will be continously improving it to the best of our abilities as we are learning in the process. Click the pic to jump to the front page and see this first Modcast ever! Some credit needs to be given here; Eclecticos handled the flash from a program he had never used before and learned on the spot, Omega is our voice of TBCS and re-recorded over and over until it was done, Elenril whipped up the top notch graphics for our display, imagispire is working on some future episode graphics, and Luke122 for producing lots of cool soundtracks for us to use. TBCS loves ya folks and thanks for all of the hard work!!!

Nice job guys.
Will the audio be available separately so I can listen to it and future ep's on my Creative mp3 player like other podcasts out there on the net?

08-24-2007, 11:54 PM
Yes, we are probably going to start producing both.

In fact, I will be uploading (Once I get to my main PC!) a copy of the Modcast EP1 MP3.

Dude! THAT WAS AWESOME!
lol I don't know what else to say, what else IS there to say? Well done guys! That turned out so well!
It will be interesting to see where this goes in the future. Haha, I can just imagine omega sitting at a desk with "guest star" Paul Capello and other forum members. Maybe something like "Attack of the Show!". Now that would be crazy! ...woah... can you imagine what it would be like if this somehow evolved into a G4 TV show? or maybe have it played through a G4 TV show? That would be so cool...
DaveW
08-25-2007, 05:39 AM

We're waaay cooler. :p

I've GOTTA get the comptuer setup at the new house. (can't access the modcast from work). Looking forward to it guys!

Well things can only get better from here, better quality audio, Imagispire made a bitchin' frame for the modcast, maybe doing an interview or something for the next one...
Stay Tuned, TBCS.

08-27-2007, 11:53 AM
Sweeeeeeet... glad to see that it came together so well!
I'm already putting together some more ideas for music for the next one! :D
I finally got a chance to check it out today. Uber sweet! +rep to all involved.
HEy, justout of curiosity, what program did you guys use to put together the flash part of it?
-Jeremy
That's actually very easily done with a Flash program I've used called Swish. It's a bit more complicated with actual Flash though.
jdbnsn
08-27-2007, 07:31 PM
We used a program called Wondershare, it's a Flash slideshow builder that so far has been pretty effective. Eclecticos knows alot more about it than I do, but in a relatively short period of time he had a good handle on how to use it. Of course, he could just be a genius ;)
Elenril
08-28-2007, 03:14 AM
Heh, this is so exciting! You did a GREAT job Omega and Eclecticos! I can't wait to see what you (we?) can get together for the next modcast - I've a feeling it's only going to get better from here.

I figure I might as well say this before I get like a billion PM's asking me what happened.
I've been removed from the Modcast project because I've got more important things to do in my life.
I'm not sure if he's taking my place, but Luke122 is now officially on the modcast team. So, TBCS, join me in congratulating Luke on the new position.
Things happen man. Life gets in the way constantly for me (ammo can). Either way, best of luck to Luke122, and +rep to you for doing a helluva job on the first modcast.

Not bad. I think the music in the background was kind of whimsical (for lack of a better word), but the sound quality has improved, and all around it's looking good.

Nice Episode. I think it was better than the first. except for one small thing. The music was just a little too loud and it made it hard to hear your voice at some points. other than that, it was excellent!

That was really cool. It had a very Rez feel to it. Maybe a bit too long though, but still very cool and really not that long when you think about it.

Just finished watching Episode Three. Best episode yet! Very well done Luke122! You are perfect for the modcast part. :) ...nice Schwarzenegger impression by the way. haha ;)

In modcast #3 there's a clicking noise in the background and it's only interrupted when there's a gap in audio sections. kind of annoying, really.
Omega
02-09-2008, 11:05 PM
Strange. .It Plays just fine for me. I do hear a little background noise tho.
TBCS Promo (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/TBCS_Group/Eclecticos/thematrix/thematrix.swf). Check it Out!
Never said it was loud. It's just this little clicking. You have to listen for it, and it's really obvious that it's there when it goes from recording to dead air.

Maybe if it wasn't in a shed... :D
It's not a huge problem. Hell, it might have even been my headphones. I'd have to check somewhere else. Or does anybody else hear the clicking? Kind of faint, Luke's voice overpowers it.
Or maybe I'm just crazy.
Eclecticos

I'd agree with this statement. :)
