What gauge is the wire they use to make paper clips? The metal ones, not the plastic covered ones. Pretty specific I know, but the plastic ones are too big and the metal ones are _perfect_.

I know, its a very odd question. But it just so happens to be that paper clips are the perfect size for what I need, but I need something around 18" of length, not three inches and all bent up. ^_^

TIA, I really appreciate the help!

Yep, exactly those.

So, I'm guessing the gauge is .003 right? lol just making sure, I don't want to order a spool of wire and not have it be the right size.

But since I'm almost %100 sure that thats the wire's gauge...

Which of these materials do you think would be the strongest? I don't know a whole lot about metals, especially in small wire form.

btw, I'm trying to keep it Amazon because thats where I'm getting some other stuff. Keeps the shipping price down and whatnot.

Thanks for the help! ^_^

Is there a piano shop near you? Piano wire might be just what you're looking for. It's very strong, springy, and comes in various sizes.

Hmmm, thats actually a really good idea!

Is this the same thing as piano wire?

Possibly. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piano_wire

Dunno about shipping, but this looks way cheaper than Amazon.

Or even try going to a model shop and asking about it. If you explain to them what you need it for, they may be able to suggest the best option.

oh man, I just thought of possibly the perfect solution! I have three guitars, I only use one. DUH.

Sometimes I wonder what is going on in my head. ...but when I try, I double over in pain. lol

btw, I would plus rep you for invoking the thought of using guitar strings, but it seems I to need to "spread it around" some more. :p
