Hey guys, I am looking around to buy a digital keyboard that is under 300 dollars. I've been playing the piano for about 5 years, so I'm not a beginner. If any of you have a keyboard or know more about them than me, could you please recommend one? thanks

Hmm... .

"Digital Keyboard"...
Like, a full fledged piano replacement?
Or a shorter version?
1/2 piano?

Midi keyboard?

Or a "digital" keyboard like a ... um... Logitech G15?

BTW, Welcome to TBCS! :D

I don't care how much it is I have to get one of those.

Release Date: Nov.31 2007

Then you will have to watch out for Keyboard Hijackers.
Lol. I can imagine it now, some kid somewhere looking up pr0n
. .and his mom walks in and the buttons have boobs on them lol.

Don't hold your breath on that Electios. It was supposed to have been released 3 or 4 different times already.. almost as bad as a Microsoft OS release.

A little steep for a keyboard. My God.

Yeah,

I saw something about that a couple of months ago. After having a 180$ logitech DiNovo die on me, I'll never buy another expensive keyboard.

Man this bloody keyboard every two-three months people are "like look at this cool keyboard".

Back On topic there are a few other MUSIC keyboards that plug into your computer but USB are best

I went through this many years ago. You have to decide if you want a controller or true keyboard. The controller is usually a better built device, but the full on digital "true keyboard" (for lack of a better name), can range from a cheap piece of crap kids toy to a _very_ expensive and well built device. In my case I had to try several keyboards to find one I liked. Go to a music shop or radio shack and put your hands on one. Key velocity is pretty much mandatory if you want the true sound and feel out of your keys. Also a pitch wheel is really nice to have. In the end I picked one based on a couple of things;
1--- how do the keys feel?
2--- How do the built in sounds compare (I picked a keyboard with a true piano sound and a good sounding drum kit (I also have 2 drum controllers and a drum pad setup so this was minor)
3--- is it connectible to my computer? (I went for midi since that is THE defacto standard and will be for a very long time. Plus I can control my digital mixer with the midi input)
4--- built in extra's. (like rythym, sounds, demos, etc....)

For the cost this is a good solution;

and this one has fewer features for less;

I am not advocating Yamaha as _great_ keyboards, but with your budget you will be hard pressed to find anything comparable...

My best advice? Go touch one or you will be disappointed.

This is taking it completely out of context, but that's my new signature.
LoL!
