I actually sat in on a web seminar about this last summer. My company is working with some people from Microsoft to integrate Laser scanning into their workflow so that you can enter into buildings instead of just looking at the outside of them. But its all in development phase. It will be a long time off before things really start to happen. But still pretty cool

Yeah, that was a killer demo. The possibilities are absolutely amazing.. it made me giddy just watching. Yeah.. I'm a huge, sad geek.

I was totally into the part about how they rendered that complete model of Notre Dame from pieces of photos on flickr. His comment about mapping the entire world from collective conciousness.. incredible.
