I.. haven't used those... but toothpaste works amazingly well!

Remember.... outward motions... outward.

I just use toothpaste. I even used it on my windows CD, I trust it so much.

JUST DON'T USE GRITTY TOOTHPASTE OR TOOTHBRUSHES. They'll scratch the **** out of the surface. Get the smoothest non-gel toothpaste ever. Apply all over the surface with your finger, then rinse it off with cool water and your finger. Then dry it. Shiny, with that minty smell. Yum.

I've used very fine rubbing compound to fix mine.

I prefer using Brasso. That works well.

Wow, lots of various stuff that people use, lol... I'll remember a couple of this just in case. I just use a little thing called a CD case, works wonders for keeping off scratches, lol. I don't handle CDs/DVDs too much if I can help it. Hence all my music being on my PDA and PC, lol.

What's great for having CDs and stuff for quick access is those CD portfolio things, I have all my drivers and my Windows disk in there to keep them together, and another for games, saves space, more organized, etc. Sorry to thread jack, but thought I'd give some advice, lol.

Thanks for everyone's input. I'll have to try the toothpaste idea. I do have cases for the cds and dvd. -but my 3yr old likes to change the dvd himself and he doesn't understand how to handle them correctly. so they get pretty scratched up.

Could always teach him how... offer him a piece of candy or something like that. When I was younger I somehow thought of the disks as gold or something and to only touch the edges, lol, but I was probably around 7yrs old then... a little after Windows 95 came out, lol...

yeah, candy doesn't work well for a 3yr old. -makes him to hyper. We've tried to teach him and he does it sometimes. but they still get scratched.

Ahh yeah... maybe in a couple years he'll be better with it, from what I know, there's only so much you can teach 'em at that age, lol... probably just something that'll improve as he matures, lol. I'm getting better at keeping my room clean, getting work done, etc. as I get older, think things through more, etc.

you should make burn't copies off the dvds and keep the orginals stored safely away. since you own them its not illegal to do so.

Ooh! Ooh! New project, make a video server for your home, lol. No more discs! I'ma do that when I'm older, a multimedia PC in place of stereo, cd player, dvd player, Tivo (like I own one now, lol, yay DVD recorders), etc. It'll save a lot of room, lol, and be a fun project. I'll also do like my Physics teacher, have my PC hooked up to the bigscreen TV in the living room for playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and such, yay HD!

I really want to make a video/media server for myself, maybe after the summer (if I don't buy a car) I'll buy a new rig and make my current one into a LAN server. That'd be cool.

Get a Media Center PC Case, and Fill it with Sata drives in a raid configuration.
Then you could run a video out to your TV and surf through your files with the media center remote.

Here is some New SATA (http://www.tomshardware.com/2003/11/14/raidcore_unleashes_sata_to_take_out_scsi/) News.

As far as the Dvd Scratch repair goes. .
After you fix it. Dupe it, and put them up . .away from Kids, and there grubby paws :)
