ok, i have a basic-ish understanding of how people get sponsered. you do good work, you build a rep, you start to meet the right people, etc. but how do the legistics work? do you keep the rigs? are you required to take it to this show or that LAN party? does anybody just make mods, like, for a living? or does everybody pretty much just do it as a labor of love (for many of you it's clearly a labor of love)?

there seems to be a whole lot of modder's out there, i'm just wondering how many turn pro, and what turning pro entails.

Well it really is different for every sponsorship. Some companies may require the person to have the case on display somewhere while others will require great big logo's on the case. or they may even just straight out pay you to do a mod for them and they keep it but that is above and beyond sponsorship.

Pretty much nobody is just a pure pro moder where all they do for a living is mod cases. Crimson Sky who owns this forum does case mods, movie effects, makes models and who knows what else. 8)

Alot of people who you see getting sponsored in worklogs are highly skilled craftsmen with many years of moding under there belts but they also have a day job.
