ok so i have ordered some blue CCFL's and i want to be able to see the light from them but can't because my case doesn't have a window. however it has a 250mm fan on the side with some metal mesh. here is a picture of the mesh and case.

what i would do is get the same size/shape in plexi and drill the same holes or bigger ones.

what i want to know is can i got buy a 1/8" (do they have it that thin and should i get it that thin if they do?) and drill the same pattern but be able to see through it better? or will it not be as transparent because of the hole drilled?

Sure they sell 1/8" thats what I'm using.
Do you mean you going to drill a bunch of holes?
You could do one side plexi with a etching or something and mesh on the other side? I dunno.

You might want to call ahead and see what hardware store has it to save yourself some gas.

ya i was also thinking of doing this.

i would put plexi with no holes on the white side and maybe continue the enermax in etching or just paint the mesh black and get ride of it all together.

i might also try cutting the side panel where the white parts are, but make it look better obviously.

Anyone know what to use if you want to round the edges of your plexi?

i've never worked with the stuff but couldn't you just use a Scroll Saw or jigsaw?

I was thinking maybee doing some 45° on each side then a 0° to take the point off
. .still wouldn't be rounded though it might be a cool effect with some lights behind it.

Then I was thinking a router would do it but i'm not so great with those.
besides the fact I would need the table type, and I would have to lower it somehow.

For rounding plexi, you can buy a small guide and bits to convert your dremel into a mini-router which would be ideal for this purpose.

Concerning the drilled plexi, you are diggin in for one hell of a task! It would be extremely difficult to produce an evenly spaced pattern without noticeable errors, and I do believe that the holes will greatly hinder the visiblity. I would consider another plan if it were my project.

yes i ordered some CCFL's and they arrived a while ago and then a second set came for free ( i would have returned them but it would cost to much on my part and his so he(seller) said just keep them.) and i put then in the csae and you can see through the case ok so i will leave things the way they are. i might change it later but who knows.
