My custom.

I tried canceling the GX280 but the guy is a dick. I bought it on Friday and he wouldn't ship until Monday. I asked him if I could have the COA number so I could contact dell for the xp disk so both would arrive at about the same time. He wouldn't do it even though I already paid. I e-mailed him yesterday telling him my situation and that I no longer needed the Dell and that I'd cover his losts etc etc. No response... got billed today.

I can understand not allowing me to cancel if he DID give me the COA or if I wouldn't pay him for his fees but... bleh w/e... That coulda been the last 300 bucks needed for the 8800gtx.

anyway, back to the point. I'm finally ordering the parts for my custom which have been teasing me for about a month or so on neweggs site.

I'll most likely either be buying my video card or sound card later on in the near future.

2 things I'm not sure about:
-would it be a better idea to get the 6600 and OC it and save the 100 bucks...? or just stick with the 6700?
-Is 620W enough? I will be OCing and watercooling later on - plus the 8800GTS

The 6600 would be more worth for your money than the 6700.

Besides, with that extra money, you can upgrade your other parts:
-You can get the 320GB version of that HDD for $10 more (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148140).
-There is a version of that mobo with heatpipes (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188013) instead of whiny fans and it has a faster FSB.
-With a faster FSB, you have the possibility to get faster RAM if you want.
-Or if you want to save money, this RAM is cheaper with the same specs (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145034).

What a dumb@ss the guy.

Well, let it go.

Redundant's post is excellent advice, IMO.

I think that 620W will be enough for your PSU needs.

Cheers mate! A new rig is always gooood :D

Sounds like something out of Blazing Saddles!

Or a Monty Python skit.

I, too, concur. This setup, along with Redundant's suggestions, is gonna rock.

I'm not sure I feel too good about that memory but I was thinking the same about the cpu. If they lowered the price of the 6700 50 bucks or so I bet it'd catch up to the 6600, popularity wise, fairly quick.

That was actually the MB I had in mind but all I remembered was the box so I thought I had the right one. Thanks! :)

The ram I want is a little pricey so I'm still contemplating If I wanna wait yet another week or go with the ram I have in my list. bleh... Damn I need a job.

I have one, (a job), and its hard enough to find money to do much of anything. Then again, a job like Best Buy, and trying to live on Cape Cod is not something that mixes well...

On a side note, i also go with the above suggestions! Hope you love that pc!
