This is a great question I'd like to see some responses
. .and Links to areas on the net where you can Learn how to do it.
As well as the Supplies and/or Tools you will need.

HERE (http://www.instructables.com/) is a great site to get it started.

I know not everyone has time to do a tutorial so I figured this would be a second Option.

What do you all want to learn how to do?

I'd like to learn how to:
1.Wire Multi-Color LED's to a Selector Knob.
2.Weld.

Learn how to weld well.

Interesting Ecl!

EDIT::: If somebody is going to spend the time to do a tutorial over there, clearly, do it over here!!! :D

Most of the stuff there is rehashed instructions from the same people that post at www.makezine.com. We already have a Modding Supply (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8546)thread that will cover every kind of craft. No need to put it here as well. What is the point of this thread anyway?

Learn how to weld well. :D

Exactly. It takes about 15 minutes to learn how to weld. It takes about 10 years to learn how to apply that knowledge to different types of metals and to make consistent, good-looking joints that are safe and reliable.

Get yourself a welder (http://www.weilerwelding.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/lincoln.html), safety gear and some scrap metal. Stop posting here, Unplug your PC and go practice.

Well I figured I'd ask what other people what they would like to learn how to do.
I might want to learn how to do it to.

Was supposed to say "Want to Learn How to Do?"

Learn by doing, not by bookmarking. ;)

I only mean this to say, turn off the PC, go have some fun and start learning a new skill--then report back to us ;)

Not to stop posting permanently for gosh sakes. :-p

I also think Crimson doesn't want you to weld your computer ;)

...or weld while on your computer...

But seriously this is what I plan on learning this year (hopefully);

Proper painting techniques (I can push the button on a spray can, but I want to be able to make it look REAL good). This includes using an airbrush.

Spanish.

Red Hat Certified Engineer. (learning more than the basics)

Improve my wood working skills. (see Crimson, I could have picked your brain...)

Seriously I think theres a picture of Dave in a kilt somewhere on these forums...

But, I got a quick question about welding: How cheap can I get a decent welder?

It matters on the kind of welder and size.

Your best option is to take an evening course on the basics of welding. Typically, the instructor has some friends or business associates that can help you out and hook you up with welding equipment and supplies that will suit your needs.

As for your question, it's about getting out and doing, not sitting here and pondering. So act.
If I could only take my own advice...

Like everyone's been saying, it takes a short time to learn the basics and the general idea of what you're doing but a lifetime (or something close) to get *good* at it. Hell, it's taken me 17 years to learn the basics of the world, let's see if I can't get good at it fairly quickly, I'd rather not be a pro at life (or at least what I want to do with mine) and use that for a few years and kick the bucket, like in most games: Oh, you're now the most powerful being in the universe, time to go kill the bad guy and end the story.
