This distraction & celebrity bs(*cough*Paris Hilton) is a big part of the reason that so many people stop watching the news.

How screwed is it that America gets more REAL news from the Daily Show off Comedy Central(A spoof news broadcast on a comedy channel), than from the 24 hour news networks, or the hour long nightly news?

News is meant to inform, not entertain. And it sure as hell is biased. You can't say anything that requires thought without it.
