Someone I know who is an avid gamer and owns a 8800GTX told me that if I raise the voltage in the video card bios it will help keep my 8800GTS cooler. (1) How do you get into the Video BIOS? (2) Is any of this actually true?

For what I know, if you raise the voltage, it will heat UP, not down... more voltage = more Wattage / More wattage = More heat
But this way you will be able to Oc it more
to get video card voltage options, it's suppose to be on the Mobo Bios actually. You're suppose to have an option somewhere to increase it. Same as the CPU and Ram option.

The only way I could see that more power = cooler, would be for a fan. Faster fan = more airflow, but other than that, slytherock is right.

I don't remember seeing an option to increase voltages in the motherboard's BIOS, at least not on my EVGA 680i SLI board. I thought the only way was to volt mod your card.
