I have this old case I've mod a long time ago.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/total000a.jpg

But now it's all dusty and broken.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/IMG_1169.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/IMG_1170.jpg

So I was looking at it and another old case I keep (I keep a lot of old cases) and came to the conclusion that I can make a new case out of them.

Here's the object of destruction # 2:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/IMG_1175.jpg

I started by removing the fan controller on top
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/IMG_1172.jpg

And every unneeded parts
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/IMG_1173.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/IMG_1174.jpg

I took the top of the case #2 to make the bottom of the ATX board
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/IMG_1176.jpg

And also took the PSU backplate of the case #2 for the new PSU emplacement.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/IMG_1177.jpg

For now the case look like this.

Now that I know that every parts fit, I will start the painting, then it's gonna be the turn of the outside. And it include removing the plexiglass top I've made. I'm thinking of a transparent top with some etching on it... Will see

So your refurbishing an old case mod, and adding another case to it?
Looked Great Before. . I can't wait to see how it turns out this time.

EDIT~
Oha.. .I see your cutting parts off case 2 and adding them to the Refurb. Kewl!

Thx for the comment :)
Let's say it's more a money problem than a recycling priority...

This ought to be interesting. I should almost mod my old case with my old craPC in it so it will look cool if I ever get around to making it into a Linux server. Why I'm saying this when I'm ever so obviously not going to do it, who knows.

But yeah, this should be cool. The old mod looks like it was pretty cool as it is, now it should be a lot better...

Well it looked pretty good before so I'll be waiting to see what it turns out like.

Crazy--I had that same case as case #2--it's currently in use at my parent's place.

Yet another /subscribe for me--this should be interesting!

Thx for the interests in this mod.
I've spend half of the night thinking of a theme and my etching, and I came to something:
ALBATOR, or if you prefer in english : Captain Herlock

Here's the main idea of he side panel
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/sidepanel.jpg

Only problem, on tis dreawing, it's the spaceship of the 1984 serie. I have to change it for the 1978 serie
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/atlantis78.jpg

A couple of other ideas are comming together around this theme

Sweet, cool to see an old casemod brought back and made even better. Looks like a cool etching you have planned there, good luck with it.

Well I really liked the original case to begin with. And I like the idea for the side panel are you planning on keeping the same theme from the first case or are you changing it all together? And I apologize if you've already stated this =P

I will change almost everything. I've used this case for almost 2 years, then I switched to the Armor. I'm kind of tired of looking at it. And it was all 80mm fans, so I will change that as well
All the top will be removed. and put a flat plexi on it, with some etchings.
The front will probably be in mirrored plexi.
The exterior painting will be a dark purple/blue
and I'm not sure about the inside.
I like the Atlantis computer of Albator

I'm looking for this to put on top of the case (http://cgi.ebay.ca/Albator-Arcadia-Weathering-bleu-Aoshima-Japon_W0QQitemZ130132529629QQihZ003QQcategoryZ1701 7QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem). Only I need a less expensive one. If someone can point me in the right direction, it will be really appreciated :)
