Hi !

I am spending much of my time biking around and exploring out some wicked trails near where I live.

I "only" have and MTB bike, but it does the trick.
I have been looking at a new Downhill bike for some time now, but I find that the prize to pay for them cool bikes are to high, and I can not afford that.

So, anyone on this forum do downhill? Or similar. I would like to know.

Greatest regards SnowFox. :D

( Also I watch Drop In TV on extreme sport channel )

Depends on what you mean. I like to hit the trails on my bike too. I have a Specialized Hardrock Sport that I got earlier in the year. It's a sweet bike.

Nice bike =D

I mean if you use your bikes to more than just get from A to B. Like if you have it as a hobby. I'm specially interested in downhill bikers. ( google it if you don't know what it is =P )

I just sold my Kona Stinky, due to my location. I was previously living a bit closer to some serious trails, and had need of the big bike. But now, living in a flat prairie town, something a bit less heavy was needed, so the Sex One got pulled out of storage.

However, two weeks ago I got a great deal on a Foes LTS2, so I'll be rocking that at the 4x course this summer.. hopefully. First I need to lose this baby weight, and then beef up the springs a bit.. last owner was 150lbs, and I'm 220ish right now, so it's waaaay too soft to ride. I'm workin on the weight situation though, so things are lookin up. :)

The bike itself has a Manitou Millenium fork on it, a Fox shock, Azonic Momentum front wheel/hub w/2.8" tire, rear is a SunRingle Singletrack with a 2.5" tire, Hayes 8" hydraulic discs, etc. I can post some pics if you want. :D

I got Hayes Nine hydraulic discs too. It gives the braking a little bit more punch :D

So, how was the Kona working out when you had it ? It costs a lot don't it ?

When I was growing up, I had a pro level BMX bike that I abused on a regular basis. I sorta upgraded to a 18 speed mountain bike (A Huffy nonetheless! :lick: ) that I occasionally take out to the ranch where I grew up and bike around.

I'm kinda toying with the notion of having the bike be my main off-road hunting rig this fall for pheasant season--will have to wait and see what happens there.

And yes I agree:

I'll see if I can find anything decent to put up as well.

Edit: I just googled downhill biking. Looks like it could be fun. I can think of a few hills around central Montana that would be perfect for such chaos!

Ok, Ok, I'll find some pics.. hang on a bit, since I dont have any at work.

The kona was pretty pricey when I bought it, oct 04. After taxes and accessories, came out to $2600. Rode it hard for the winter and all through summer 05, then summer 06, and then sold it this summer. Bike was totally stock though.. I did nothing to customize it except add a couple stickers.

The Foes is a strange story actually... friend of mine owns a pawn shop, and in 2003, he had this bike show up in the store against a $700 loan. He gave the guy 3 extra months to pay back the money, but finally just had enough, and sold to me for $700. The bike (as built) was nearly $3000 in value!!! So I got my first hardcore bike.

I rode it until October of 04, when a friend of mine was moving to BC, and wanted the bike so bad he offered to trade me his car. Good deal for me.. $700 for a bike that I rode hard for two seasons, and it needed $1000 of work, but I still traded it for a car. :D

He spent $1500 (probably more) on the bike, and this spring he called me up and asked if I wanted to buy it back. "How much?" i asked, thinking he'd want a fortune for it. I actually preferred it to the Kona..

He offered me $500 plus my Kona (lol.. which was now in need of $1000 or more in work). SO.. I got my Foes back + $500 + it was all repaired. I"ll add pics of all my bikes when I get home tonight. :D

oh man i love disc brakes *drools* all i have is a cheapo canadian tire bike with dual **** shocks. i went up to algonquin park with it and tried a biking trail but didn't make it all the way. they have loops that range from 4.7 to 23.4 km long. i only made it the 4.7km because one i was tired and two my bike woulda fallen apart. i would love to go get a nice bike but i want my pc first.

here is a link (http://www.algonquinpark.on.ca/mustrails/biktrail.html) to the trail (its the first one)

I have a Kona stuff. Its a really nice bike and i got it for like $600 after trading in my ****ty old bike and a discount for being friends with the owner. It's pretty good if you ask me, the lack of rear suspension might be bad but the front suspension is incredible and the disc brakes are a huge plus.
