I am looking for a 3 1/2 bay "power and reset" switch. I found these, but i'm not sure if it can be used as a power and reset switch. Any of you professionals know? Thanks guys!

Edit:

If that doesn't work, I found this which seems pretty cool. Have any of you ever used the wireless on/reset? Also, if you have any ideas on what i can do for power/reset switches, please give them. I have one 3.5 drive bay open and three 5.25 drive bays open.

Thanks again!

no it won't, becuase there rocker switches which don't spring back. i'm not 100% sure but if you can flick it on then off it might work but again i'm not sure.

3 high quality snap in blue, red, green or rocker switches

if that means you push them and they spring back then yes you can by doing the following.

you would have to cut the wires from your orginal power and reset switch crimp them with the provided spade connectors and it would work.

here is a picture of what i mean. you would do the same as with the reset

So it just needs to be able to spring back out, and anything should work? Thanks for the drawing, it helped a lot :D

np, if its a regualr on/off switch then you can just flick the switch on then off within a 1/2 a second or so then i think that would work too. but i'm not 100% sure and i don't want to be resposible for it messing up. but i think thats all that a spring style (not sure if thats what its technical name) does. it connects the circuit for a 1/2 second or so then it turns on.

Ok, Thanks for the input in all of this. I want to go the safe way (easiest way) in doing the power buttons. I found THIS (http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=137&products_id=3325) and it seems very cool. I'm just worried that it will be a pain in the ass to find the remote at times.

Do you know of any great power buttons spawn? And what do you think about this wireless on/off switch?

no i can't think of any good switch, never been in hte market for one so i haven't looked. as for the whole wireless thing i think its a neat idea, like this (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4142) one, but i don't think i would do it. i would rather spend the money on water cooling or the computer parts.

you can wire it up so that you can use the wireless keyfob and use you regular power switch by spliting the wire that comes off the board into a Y and one feed the wireless part and the other goes to the power switch.

This is my first mod, so I'm not going to spend much money on parts or WC parts. I think I'm going to head over and post my work logs in the forums of my progress. Thanks for all your help spawn, I might send you a PM if I have any questions if you don't mind :D

Thanks

Also, if anyone has a suggestion please tell me :D

shouldn't be a problem, my enermax case is my first mod/computer so i'm in the same boat as you in terms of new computer. joining these forums i've decided to water cool, do a little bit of modding, and build a pretty good computer(i will end up spending i think 3000 for everyithng). i'll be sure to check out your progress of w/e mod your going to do.
