View Full Version : Weird and worrying.

I was sitting at my PC and suddenly both the monitors lost signal and said the signal was out of range. All the lights where in the case the HDD was spinning and all seemed find. The mouse and keyboard wouldn't respond. So I go ok and press reset nothing happens... Press it like 20 times nothing happens. Then like 3 mins later I am talking to my dad and the system beeps and resets. Anyone know what this means?

PSU going bad?

put your videocard in another computer.. see if it stillworks. if it does. try putting a spare or a friends PSU in your computer and see how it works. if it still beeps and restarts it could be your motherboard. at least thats how i learned and always trouble shot systems

I hate that, worse then anything else!

IMO is either your PSU or you have a short somewhere.
First Check you molex connections make sure you don't have a pin sticking out anywhere.

Remove any unnecessary fans, lights, trinquits, himbobs, or WhooDo's :)

If you have another PSU Try that out,

Mobo. . Specific check your manual!
If that doesn't work remove your cmos battery and move your Cmos jumper to clr then wait
15 seconds and replace the battery then try turning it on. . if it comes on you may have a short.

If it doesn't thats good just move the cmos jumper back to the original position.
Then hit the power button, That should kick the video over.

I turned it on this morning and it is fine. The graphics card didn't overheat I dont know what went wrong.

Yeah I need to get on the phone to ghost busters. Anyway I am gonna be doing an upgrade soon but thanks for the help anyway guys.
