Ok guys I have been here for some time but I have a question that is really buggin the hell outta me. I am designing a semi custom rig and havve all the parts and everything figured out how to wire it except for one tiny thing. The power button. I am wanting a military looking toggle switch preferably. My question is can I just go to like autozone or o'reilly's and just buy a switch off the shelf or does it have to be a specific type like a momentary switch or will the standard on off work?? I am clueless on this one. i know i can order one prebuilt from www.mnpctech.com and also they have one at www.performance-pcs.comI would prefer to try and buy the part locally.Any help would be appreciated.

The switch must be momentary, a standard on/off switch will not work.

Here are some popular momentary switches.

Any momentary switch will do, but those seem to be the choice that most make.

btw, you have to know how to solder for some switches. Above I included pre-wired switches (second link) in case you do not know how. Though, they are a tad bit more expensive. But on the bright side, you get to pick whatever color/style you want for the LED, Sleaving and Heat Shrink material. ^_^

I figured it would be a momentary switch would be the one that I needed. I have browsed all the vandal switches and such. If i cant find a switch locally I will have to go with one of those. I just wanted to make sure i was gong in the right direction. thanks for the input guys. Once I get the switch and all I will be waiting on a few parts and I can get started on the new mod.

How hard would it be to replace the blue LED in these with a white LED?

My case im starting is black and white themed and i really love these power switches but the color will kill it :(
