I know this isn't related to modding in any way, but I'm going to miss him.

Elenril

His name was Ketchup, short for Kechika (which means white or something). I still have another guinea pig, a brown one called Bimbo.

My sympathy goes to you. It sucks when we lose a pet.

I feel for ya. I have one left of about six that we had, never, I repeat, never leave them outside on a hot day, they drank the water quite quickly and then the sun moved and their shade left, we lost four that day and then my dad put them outside one day and didn't tell me about it (as usual) and one got away, so we have our one little grey guinea pig named Mouse left... Losing pets sucks.

Losing pets sucks

tell me about it... I lost two cats last year and they where with us for 7 or 8 years... :((

but thats the thing with cats... they wont let you see they are sick they leave home and then die... proud and arrogant "bastards"

don't worry about your guinea pig, he probably went to a better place somewhere,,, after all we all hope there is a better place...

Guinea pigs are so damn cute too. How old was it?

Elenril

Bimbo... .........

Yeah, I didn't know what it meant at the time. But hey, he's silly enough to be one. He's a bit too male though.

He was about 5 or 6 years old. He's always been really sickly because his breed comes from a small tribe which have been inbreeding for centuries and have all sorts of problems. He had diahorrhea (however you spell it) constantly for the later half of his life.

I don't know if any of you watch "Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern" but he was in Ecuador and actually ate guinea pig...

No, sorry...
It also was not intended to make light of his loss, but it's the only current reference I have for guinea pigs...

Elenril

Hehe, don't worry, when your dog or cat dies I have plenty of Asian references hidden up my sleeve ;)

Thanks guys, I'm starting to feel better now. Now I'm scared for when my other guinea pig and puppy have to go... I don't like losing pets...

No one likes losing pets, but it's a fact of life. It's a great way to explore and come to terms with death.

mmmm...kung pao kitty....

You could always get a turtle; some of those species live 100+ years.
Your grandchildren could inherit it from you! lol

Mimbo?

Yeah we see that problem often in the back woods of Arkansas... :D

...right after they race them. The winner gets a better life (prolly in the highlands ;) )

Hehe, don't worry, when your dog or cat dies I have plenty of Asian references hidden up my sleeve ;)

Hehe yes I saw the dog's being chased when I was in Thailand and the Philippines. They leave the cats alone because the control the rats.

Thanks guys, I'm starting to feel better now. Now I'm scared for when my other guinea pig and puppy have to go... I don't like losing pets...

I understand. Have lost 2 cats and a dog in the last few years. Long good lifes. Now I am looking at my older dog BeeJ and expecting her to go any day... I rescued that mutt from a horrible home, and she has never stopped thanking me in the 12 years we have had her... I AM the doggie god!

Or a Macaw. In captivity they can live to 60+ years! All the while acting like a 2 year old...)

Elephant is what you should get. They live at least a hundred years too. :D

Sorry about the guinea... :(

ROFL that made my day. At least now I know he's safe and sound in Scotland, he must be happy, stuffing himself on haggis.

@Redundant, The Black Pumpkin: Thanks, I'll keep your suggestions in mind for when I'm shopping round for something to add to the collection of family heirlooms ;)

Ooh! You should get a pet human. I heard somewhere they live just about as long as us... oh wait...

No I do not have anything to do with slavery nor do I like the whole "practice" of it in the past and wherever else it is. Just another lame joke. :D

My other guinea pig, Bimbo, died today. I think he missed Ketchup a lot, so he wanted to join him quickly.

R.I.P. Ketchup and Bimbo...

I don't know why, I think their deaths have to do with your camera.
I propose that your camera, with each snap, steals the soul of its subjects.
Your guinea pigs, K and B, lived up to their names... guinea pigs.
That Pentax is downright a weapon.

I think Bimbo died because when people (especially old married people) have been together for quite some time they feel like they belong together. Then when one of them dies the other one actually dies of loneliness.

Sorry for losing both of them :(
