Hi all,
Long time reader and do to my lack of electrical skills first time poster here.
So I'm looking to fit an externally readable temperature gauge into a computer case. Preferable into one of the 5.25 or 3.5 external bays.
(something that looks about like this)

Here's the thing though, this case isn't going to have a motherboard or normal PC power supply in it. I will however have a 12v power supply wire running into the rig to power some fans.
(one that looks like this)

So basically what I guess I need is one of those temp gauges with it's own temp sensor that can be powered the same way I'm going to power the fans. Ive never used one so I don't know if they usually come with there own sensor or of they get there info from a motherboard.
Can anyone offer me some advice on how to make this happen or maybe point me in the direction of a cheap no frills 3.5 or 5.25 temp gauge that would work in my situation?
