I've been trying to find a nice and lite program to monitor the cpu temp... preferably one that will either display on my g15's lcd or on the toolbar. So far, all I can find are huge bulky things that you have to open up to check.

you can use mother board monitor

its a great and versatile monitoring software and it does have toolbar icons for temp !

PS: just google it and you will find a place to download it

I tried that and there was no support for EVGA motherboards... out of the 1000+ motherboards it did support lol.

I use Speedfan (http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php) It works great for me. It displays your temp in the tasktray and it must be fairly easy to extact the data for plugins. I have seen them for Samurize (http://www.samurize.com/modules/news/) and they have a Sidebar Gadget that uses it for Vista.

Plus I found this little article that might help for your G15 ..

Hope this helps and Good luck!!

Try Core Temp. I know it's supposed to be for C2D's, but it works on my X2. Might work for you.

And it is lite and displays in the toolbar. :)
