Im having a hard time finding some Opaque White Acrylic. I want it so that when the lights are not on it will be solid white but when the lights are on you will be able to tell that it is being illuminated... but still give the look of a solid white.

Anyone know where to get it?

like the mac style of casing for there monitors?

and does it have to be white or like a smoked glass type of white?

i'nm having a major brain fart (i've always wanted to say that) and i can't think of the term used when you sand Acrylic to make it like a fogged glass type of thing.

i'm not sure if this would work but you might be able to paint a thin layer or two onto clear Acrylic and see what effect you get.

I"m seconding the sanding method.. you can get a pretty good look from that with white LED's.

Dragon,

Where are you located? Most online plastics distributors sell white acrylic that will give you your desired effect.

Smoked or Frosted(sanding) just does not give the desired effect i am looking for. :'( I tried numerous different methods of making clear acrylic work because thats the only kind of acrylic i can get that i suppose can be considered local. lol

The easiest way i can describe what i want it to look like is a light table..

Unfortunately i live in a tiny little 2,500 people farm town in the middle of a desert in Washington. Yeah there are deserts here... not just rain and trees!

I found what i was looking for i think. I ordered samples of every white they sell and for future reference in case anyone else needs to know what its called. The stuff is referred to as either:
Lighting White
Sign White
Opaque White(Oh Rly?)
