Well, I've finally kicked off this big project. ( )
What project, you ask? The re-restoration of this car.

It looks great, you say! What needs to be re-restored on that?
Well, it's been sitting in our driveway for 2 years, not having been run. Now it has lots of systems that need to be redone. (Like the brakes...)
Here's the engine compartment.

As you can see, fairly good condition, but plenty of rust on things.
Well, so far, I've gotten it started, but that's about it. I had to replace the battery---

---and use some starter fluid, since it has old gas. (If anyone wants, I'll record a video of it running so you can hear it.) I need to replace all of the spark plugs, cause I think it's misfiring, and one of thems a little rusty.
Oh yeah, and I replaced the tires too, cause the old ones were getting dry rotted.

So I'll keep everyone updated on what I do, and how the re-restoration is coming along!
Anyone care to take a guess at year and model? Obviously it's a Buick. :)
Oh, and here's a teaser of my next project...

Somehow, I knew you'd reply. :D
The battery looks good because it's two days old with new terminals. :)
There were two engine models on this year of this model, a 6.6L V8 401, and a 7.0L V8 425 (this came with either a single or dual four barrel carbs.) I'm not sure which size it is, and their are no markings to indicate, so I'm erring on the side of caution and saying it's the 401, since that was more common.
I "believe" it's a four barrel carb. I've only looked at it enough to replace the air filter.
It does have air conditioning, R-134a, to be exact.
I believe it's an automatic transmission, and I'm not sure on suspension, but both are standard equipment.
Oh and yes, drum brakes all around.

Speaking of cars sitting around for years, I got my '63 Hillman Super Minx back on the road after 2 and a half years sitting around.
I took it for a 250 mile round trip to see my parents today as a shakedown before I do a longer trip next month in it.
The joy of old motoring. It's much more fun in an old car. I've got a few little niggles to sort out to make the car rattle a little less (loose exhaust mount) and a few interior bits need tightening to stop some squeaks.

You're right, that's a 54 Chevy. I wasn't sure about the year of the Buick though. I loves me some classic cars! My first car was a 66 Impala with the original 283, 2 bbl carb, and a 3 speed hurst shifter on the floor. My dream car trio would be 55, 56, 57 Chevy.
EDIT:
Pumpkin.. I'm jealous. Can I come to Florida?

Yeah Ive seen the process in hot rod magazine or something like that. I think I will save the 5 grand to paint it the right way. The car does need new paint, its the original from 1969 lol. I know because I bought the car off of a guy that bought it new. I only paid 7 grand for it but it was in mint condition. Its been the last 6 years of sitting in tha sun, snow, and rain thats ruined the paint. only 60,000 miles on the car.
Ohh and its not black, its a dark brown. But when I get the money it will be Orange with black stripes or Silver with black stripes.

Totally right on that!
My dream paint scheme would be the black with red.
And, side-note::: I don't know what the heck happened with my lack of grammar in my last post.
It's "stRipe" and "red"... not "stipe" and "read".
